Hi All! 1st post but been a lurker for years.
Came back to SH3 with the GWX 3.0 Gold and current SH3 Commander installed. Beautifull pieces of work! This problem with the Patrol Log Editor was posted by OldMP a few months ago and I have the same issue.
When you open the editor, there is no "bottom" to the screen, thus no "buttons" and ability to post any edits to your patrol log. Note the screenshot below:
The standard "uninstall/reinstall was done with no effect. Anyone have this problem? Thanks in advance for any replies and ideas

WELCOME ABOARD! :sunny:
I don't seem to have that problem.
Here's how mine looks, and how yours should look.

I'm not sure what the problem could be. :-?

I've tried every key and mouse combination I could think of. I can't duplicate that. Sorry. :hmmm:

Another 'dumb' idea or two......
Reboot the computer, if not, reinstall SHC.
This is something simple me thinks, but a pita to find.

Figured a workaround for my Patrol Log issue. I just go to the Patrol cfg file and enter any patrol notes after placing a "|" after the last entry. The "|" starts a new line and the entry shows up.

Hope this helps anyone else who runs into this.

I have found that if I edit the patrol log, either through the editor or through the .cfg it will no longer appear in SH3. Patrol 4 is missing from the patrol history, the tonnages are all still in place etc etc, but the log is blank in SH3 and in SHC.
I suspect that this is something to do with the fact that I'm running SH3/C through Wine on OS X. But has anyone seen that happen before?

I had a similar problem.
When I changed an entry with the patrol editor of the SH3 Commander the date showed up in ASCII characters.
Now , with this procedure , it has been corrected.
Thank you.

Since it helped at least one other person, that's makes it a good day all around! Your welcome & Good hunting!

Bootlegger, just for the record, I have the same problem with the Patrol Log Editor. I am playing GWX 3.0 Gold with SH3 Commander on a Windows 7 64 rig. The Patrol Log Editor looks and works exactly like your screenshots in Post #1 above.
Prior to December 2009, I was subsimming on a Windows XP rig, same set-up (GWX and SH3C) and if I recall correctly, the Patrol Log Editor was working fine. I assumed that my changing from Win XP to Win 7 64 was the reason the Editor did not function on this "new" rig.
Thanks for the tip on how to manually edit the log! Much obliged.

Could I get a few copies of different Logs from different people?
Maybe I could write a quick click and forget program to adjust this
so you don't have to manually edit the Logs.

The Commander Patrol logs as discussed in this thread.
Edited and the unedited copys.
That way I can compare them.
4 or 5 from different people should be enuff.
Privateer, would love to send you copies of my logs, and will when I can. I definitely appreciate your offer to look into a work around!
Unfortunately, I am without internet until after Wed January 4th. Yesterday, the neighborhood children (including my sons) decided to dig foxholes in my back yard along a fence. One of the knuckleheads dug into my fiber-optic broadband cable line and severed it. I lost my internet, cable TV and my home phone lines in one fell swoop... :-( Worst of all, I can watch NO FOOTBALL until it is fixed!!! Huge bowl games, and I am in a complete tech black-out.
It being New Years Holiday, the Comcast Cable guys can't get out here until at least mid week, and that is IF they keep to their appointment.
I will send ya some log files when I get back up and running and once again, thanks for your offer!

Gum

I've already written a program that searches for and then changes whatever I want in SWTOR files.
So it should be an easy adjustment to that code to work on the Patrol Logs.
I thought about adjusting something in the Patrol Log program itself but
JScones has a line in the License about messing with his programs so I'm not going to disrespect that.

Send ya mine from the campaign i'm running now.
Do you just want the Patrol*.cfg file?

I only want whatever SHCommander outputs that needs edited.
I don't play SH3 let alone use Commander.
That's why I ask others to send me thier copies.

Looking at what Steve sent me, I'll need the .cfg files.

Meh!
I tried to use SH3Commander and the Patrol log thing but it's not working for me.
Probably need to actually do a patrol or something instead of just saveing in base at the start of a new Career.
Too busy working on the 12pdr to mess with it much right now, but isn't there some other file it saves to?

It seems to be a long time since anyone posted here - but I didn't find any solution to the "bootmless page" problem reported by Bootlegger, which is the same I find myself.
Any clues on why buttons are not displayed in our Log Editors?

Solved:
If anyone is having this issue with SH3 Commander, its a Windows setting issue, not with Commander.
You have to change the text size to the default (100%) size in the control panel.
Control Panel -> Appearance and Personification -> Display
Hope it helps the few of us who weren't getting everything out of SH3 Commander.

Woohoo! Now that's the way to bring back an old thread!
Thanks for working on that until you found an answer. :sunny:

Brilliant Tupolev - brilliant! :salute:
It works like described.
Sad to say I still can't use it. The default setting with my Win7 (1920x1080) is 125%.
Switching down to 100% all displayed fonts turn fuzzy and I need a magnifying glass to read any text.
I'll live with it...

@Steve - I was really wanting to not necro, but this was bugging me so much I couldn't quite help it!
@Mittelwaechter - I'm running 1680x1050 so I don't have that particular problem. Two possible solutions, and I'm really just taking a stab at it...
1) Try a custom text size:
Control Panel -> Appearance and Personification -> Display
Its an option on the left of the window that says "Set custom text size (DPI)". Maybe setting 105% or 110% might work?
2) Fine tune the text:
Just above the "Set custom text size" option should be "Adjust ClearType text". Running through that might clear up the text?
Hope one of these helps you!

Thanks for your suggestions. I tried 110% and got the text line to show but not the buttons.
It doesn't matter.
If I urgently feel the want to alter any records, I can do now by switching to 100% - thanks to your discovery.
Great find!
Edit: I have an elegant solution for the problem, but I'd have to ask Jaeson Jones for his permission to sidestep the license agreement. :03:

I've just returned to SH3 and GWX after a long absence thanks to Win 7 and Steam issues.
I've been reading alot about this Commander application... anyone help me with a link to the download site? Have searched all over but cannot find one :dead:
Help appreciated :salute:
