I recall playing SH3 on an old computer that was so slow that when I looked forward on the surface, the bow spray would lock up the screen. Later, with better PC enjoyed the game very much. Then we moved from boonies to urban local and found this new craze, the internet! First search on u boats and related topics revealed site called SUBSIM Radio Room Forums. I couldn't believe it. Read for days and many game play problems I had were answered by people like Jimbuna , Sailor Steve, and many other wise captains. I soon began to read about The Grey Wolves. At first I thought it was a new game, and I wanted to buy it. But no, it was a free download! To a computer dumb old guy this seemed out of reach. Chimps with learning problems have better PC skills. But with help from smart ass son, I was soon enjoying a whole new level of this great game. Now much braver, I downloaded a few skins from Jimbuna's File Front page. Thanks to great JSGME tool, [ God bless you sir!] I amazed myself! Now have Fubar's great typeIXC weathered and many other amazing mods. Thank you so much. I cannot say enough about the great modders who have made my favorite time waster so much more enjoyable and realistic. A tip of the old salt stained, weathered cap to all of you!

The main reason I consider Subsim my second home is the passion for the genre we share, both for the history and for the game. You'll find more help here than in all the other websites combined. :sunny:

I wouldn't be surprised if Steve answered his own post there :haha:

So now you've turned to stalking? Are you accusing me of having more than one account, which is a banning offense?

PapaKilo

Are you accusing me for expressing my opinion ? :haha:

Yeah it should be a banning offense, but not for you, we have dual standarts here remember ? =]

Sailor Steve

I'm not accusing you of anything, but you seem to be fixated on following me around and causing trouble.

And no, we don't have a double standard. If I was caught doing that, or breaking any of the other rules here, I would be punished just as quickly as anyone else.

Wonder how many would believe this fairy tale of equal justice :DL

You'll likely never know one way or the other, because I do my best to not cause trouble for people. You, on the other hand, seem to thrive on making trouble, which is why you get yourself into it so often.

I can't figure out what is trouble - reply to your own posts or unpuzzling it someone doing it :haha:

The guy made a statement. I replied, praising Subsim in the process. You want to claim I'm lying, fine. You want to claim we have a double-standard, fine. I'm trying to help. You seem to be trying to hurt. I think the difference between us is obvious.

It was not a HELP, more like a ussual cheer up clap to the butt cheek :)

Made specially or accidently doesn't realy matter isn't it ? :)

As you say, you are entitled to your opinion. You are not, however, entitled to follow people around for no good reason, trying to tear them down.

What does that even mean?

Very true, such is my thinking, now be kind and respect it :)

Nah, that would require that you said something worth erasing. Seriously, get up, turn off the machine and take a walk or something. You'll feel less worked up.

You keep saying that, but every time it seems that the only person getting worked up in these threads is you. The only time that I chase after people is when I am pretty hot about something. You need to learn to relax. Let things go. Let people be. In the end, your dislike for Steve doesn't hurt Steve. He sleeps fine at night. It's you that ends up spending your day chasing after him, getting all angry.

:haha: I'm not chasing the bloody Steve! It just happens to bump into the same thread from time to time, that's all :)

He's a weird and funny guy :haha: I just can't help not to NOTICE that :)

A simple view of your posting history says otherwise, let alone the content of your post. You just can't help your self. It seems to me that you feel wronged by him and want to take part in some form of reciprocity. You don't like him. Okay, we get that. Do you think that I like everyone on this forum? You'd be wrong if you said yes.

Hell, Steve and 1480 were pretty rude to me on GT last week. I found it upsetting, and yes, it kind of changed my view of some people. Am I still a bit irked over it? Yes. Am I going to chase Steve around the boards? No. Why? Because I'm not 10 years old. He likes SubSim. I like SubSim. We both have a right to enjoy it, and to do so without dragging an argument across the forums. No one wants to read that. Same goes here.

No, you're digging too deep Takeda. Everything is much more simple. Since he's a long time weirdo to me, I like to tease him a bit :haha: You know - fisting his chest - cheking if he's still in his own firm stance in what he believes is right :DL But this is not an offense, I am used to be this way all my life. :yep:

Whatever you say, PapaKilo. The bottom line is that you can't let Steve be, and decided to hijack u_crank's thread today in order to take a few swipes at him. And along those lines, I think it's about time that you let the guy's thread go. He hasn't done anything to you, and this is not a very nice welcome.

5 infractions on the last month for the same reasons is really too much. We want this to stay a nice place for everyone, and while we have tolerance for some teasing, there are limits to what I'm ready to accept -even in Xmas time. As the saying in Spain goes: "I hope you take as much peace with you to the brig, as you leave here"

Thanks for welcome Fubar2Niner. Glad to be aboard. I enjoy the odd doughnut myself. My personal policy is along this line " If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men." After all 'tis the season of good will. Peace and regards.

Many "old salts" seem to flock here like seagulls. The pace and the friendly, helpful nature of people like Jimbuna, Sailor Steve, and many others seem to suit us.

Welcome, u crank

Thanks for the welcome, Kafka BC. This "old salt" likes it here already. As a long time "lurker", I don't recall seeing that before. Just lucky I guess. Hope everybody's OK. As a seasoned ol' crank, I've noticed you can't have too many friends.

I would ask "How seasoned?", but we have a thread for that sort of thing that you might (or might not) want to check out.

There are more of us old salts than you might expect from a website dedicated to a game. :sunny:

I just posted a thread in GT about seeing my dad on his 84th birthday, reconnecting with my daughter and meeting one of my grandkids for the first time. We can lie to ourselves, we can even lie to the mirror sometimes, but we can't lie to our adult children. :dead:

So true, my friend. I have 32 and 35 year olds. They keep me honest. Also 11 year old grandson. Really glad you got to see your dad. Lost mine 1970. He was only 51. Aircraft mech. in RCAF. Served in England in WW2. Worked on Wellingtons and Lancs. Browsed through thread, great pics. As a Canuck, I'm impressed with your neice! Keep your stick on the ice mate!
