Occasionally I like to put a few hotlaps on the tarmac, mostly with GTR2, but I also like to go back - though rarely - to NASCAR2003, even RBR with that French mod whose name I always forget.:) I thougght I set up a couple of links to the upcoming new racings sims of the new year, rFactor2 and GTR3. Actually, there is not much to say about GTR3 than just three screenshots on which it looked phantastic, but for rFactor2 theyx have released some release-preparing videos to illustrate the highlights, now that the Beta is imminent.

SloMo study of the new supension and tire behaviour. Awesome!

I still like GTR2, it is a very round and complete and believable package. But the new stuff to come this year has the potential to flatten and kill all what has been there before. Professional insiders and observers of the husiness say that it even surpasses the current evolution phase 2 of iRacing. But that is what I read, not what I believe or know. I do not know it at all - I'll wait and later learn myself. Anyhow, for the realistic racing genre, things look bright in 2012.

I've also been watching GTR 3 and RFactor 2. My favorite racer was GTR2 until I found IRacing. But IRacing requires too much time and commitment. So I'm can't wait for these two new racer sims.

Heres a link to GTR3 website :-

The sound you will here are from the game and it sounds amazing. There are also a few hidden screen shots. but its hard to tell much from them... next update to site should be soon.:ping:

Here is me thinking this thread is about game crashes due to overheating laptops.

The beta is imminent, and simHQ already has a mutiple_parts ion depth look at rFactor 2, not so much opinion-wise (obviously judging rF2 by a pre-Beta state would not mean much), but purely descriptive.

Things look nice!

It does look very nice. I played ALOT of the original rF (not as polished as some titles that used the ISI engine, but the volume of mods was incredible...) so this one is eagerly anticipated.
