If this case is successful I fear it may open up the floodgates for anyone jailed by Gaddafi.
A Libyan military commander has started legal action against the UK government, which he claims was complicit in his illegal rendition and torture.
Abdel Hakim Belhaj said he and his wife were detained in Bangkok in 2004, then transferred to Abu Salim jail, Tripoli.
He said he was held there for six years and often tortured.

Give back the Lockerbie bomber to die in segregated misery first, then we may think about your claims...
(or is BP still too entwined in that?)
Scum...Ungrateful scum.:damn:

Give back the Lockerbie bomber to die in segregated misery first
You have to identify him first
Scum...Ungrateful scum.
What have they got to be grateful for?
A good bit of advice can be gathered from that article though.
When you are using crazy dictators to illegaly torture people for you try and remember to make sure they don't keep any paperwork.
I wonder if the same will happen out of Egypt if the military fail in setting up their new dictatorship, or maybe out of Syria when Assad fails to slaughter all the opposition.
You would have thought governments and their agencies woud have learnt after Nuremburg...make sure you and your friends destroy all the files when you are doing dodgy stuff.
The guy should simply assume that taking out Gaddafi is sort of "off the record" apology.:haha:
Lucky for you Gaddafi did not stood international trial-it could be interesting.

They should be grateful we let them live as long as we did. We used to be alot more hostile than before.
As for the Lockerbie bomber, they had him, he was released because he was months from death...He is still alive, years later..People love to speculate on how he didn't do it, but discount the trial this a-hole LOST to be convicted...
(good job Brits)
I wonder if that BP contract is still in effect with the new regime.

So people should be grateful you don't simply murder those who oppose crazy dictators.

:haha::haha::haha::haha::haha::haha:
The person they had in prison was released because it was getting rather awkward to keep blocking the appeal against the very questionable conviction.
Please try and fill yourself in on a few of the basics as you seem to discout just about everything available.
Do you even remember the atrocity then all the wrangling, investigation and eventual trial then all the followups?
I am guessing your total background view on the matter amounts to what you have seen on the local news since the actual release went ahead.

Most of that interesting stuff came out before Maggie put a block on "public interest" out of GCHQ.
I assume you are talking about the terrorist idiots over here and the British taxpayer funding the shipments of czech explosives via libya to them which were then used to murder and maim British people when they were out shopping
