I visited U-995 in Kiel (Laboe) in Germany in 1994, and recently I found this (http://www.uboataces.com/u995.shtml) very interesting DVD that I just had to buy today. :sunny:

Yes, I'm really looking forward to it as there are so many years I visited U-995 last.
I also bought the book about U-995 when I was there. :sunny:

I find the CD's very interesting, and can be most warmly recommended !! :salute:
Still, I haven't gone thru all the material yet.

Even though I visited U-995 in 1994, I find the CD's worth owing, cause now I can go in and out of the U-boat whenever I want, without paying a penny. :rotfl2:

Okey.... I know that the delicious smell inside U-995, does not come along with the CD's.....

The U-995 CD's is really recommended for modders and historians, according to the website.

The CD's can be bought here (http://www.uboataces.com/u995.shtml).

I ordered the HD version on 02/07/12 and received the package on 02/27/12. According to the stamps on the package, it came from somewhere in "Malaysia". The disks were in a nice padded envelope but there is a problem. The three disks were all crammed into one jewel case that is made to hold only one disk. The case apparently came open during shipping and the only disk that is usable is the one that was put in the case first. the other two are scratched too badly to use. I am not real happy about this. It's not a total loss since the disks made good targets for my Armalite AR-10. :damn:

My CD's also came cramped into a one-cd jewel case, but non of my discs were damaged. I also noticed the stamp from Malaysia.

Send them some scans from the damaged CD's, and they will probably send u a new parcel. :yeah:

I have that CD it is worth getting.

Marinenachrichtendienst, I have been meaning to ask you about the three pictures in your signature. Is there a story behind it? Who are they?

I have emailed them about the damage and got a very quick response. They say they will replace the damaged disks. I will let you know how it plays out.:hmmm:

I did enjoy the only readable disk with the HD tour of the boat. There is a great deal there that you don't see in movies or in most pictures.

I received the two replacement disks on 03/17/12. They are both in good condition. I am satisfied that I got what I paid for and was fairly dealt with by the company. They're okay.

Hi Platapus,

Interesting that u wanted to ask me about the 3 pictures.

As a collector of original german photos, photoalbums and negatives from WW2 for more than 22 years, I just found it interesting to show some female uniform pictures in this forum, although only one of them are associated with the Kriegsmarine... so no, in THIS CASE I unfortenately have no history of the 3 photos......

Warmest Regards,

Are you certain that one is related to the navy? To me they look more like German Red Cross, Flak aid (I think they were part of the Luftwaffe:hmmm:) and a BDM Girl....but I might be wrong there as I'm no expert on those uniforms.

Only the woman in the middle, is from the navy (Helferin der Kriegsmarine). The other 2 is from the Rec Cross and BDM.
