Drift Away (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaPnOASOWIU)

As much a part of the soundtrack of my childhood as any artist. Covered many times, but never bettered.

Just last week, this song came on the radio on my drive home. I pulled over, closed my eyes and just let it flow through me.

I used to harmonize with 'Drift Away' every time I heard it on the radio.

All I can do is quote a line from that song: "Thanks for the joy you've given me".

Talented performer and a great song I grew up with! Still love that song today and sing right along with the lyrics!

Nooooo!

Drift Away is timeless. Long before my time, yet everytime it came on the radio, while enduring my long daily commute, I would get happy, sing along, and forget the chaos of NJ highways.

71 is a hearty age indeed. I hope he went peacefully, he deserves it , after all the peace he gave me.:salute:

A singer and a song: the memory both will never "Drift Away"...

You ever thought of doing a cover? Might be outside your genre, but I watched your vids. Your talented band can pull it off with a unique touch I am sure.:)
