Earlier today, a demolition team was about to demolize an old silo in Assens, Fyn in Denmark.

But as you can see on the video they had miscalculated something

Controlled demolition is not easy. Anyone can blow the crap out of something with enough explosives. But to drop a silo like that is complicated.

I wonder what they ended up doing. With it already partially collapsed, it will be dangerous to re-drill for a drop. I imagine they would have to topple it instead of dropping it.

Doh! I hate when that happens! :D

My guess is it's time to bring in the long reach excavators. An excavator with shears would make quick work of that silo.

That is what they have been talking about. taking it down, brick by brick.
the authorities fear that it would fall during the coming hurrican, that's scheduled to hit Denmark on friday.

We had a first glance to experience the upcoming storm in West Germany last night, hit us pretty good, it will probably have more strengh when near the sea. I guess the 30 evicted people have to stay a little longer in the hotel.

unrelated question: did you move to Denmark shortly? I think some days ago you still had Sweden as your location.
