It's obviously German. U said U-Boat in the question, so that's my guess.

Is it Russian? I'm just guessing, based on the shape of the windows, the cold-weather uniforms the crew are wearing, the Maxim gun, and what looks like the boat's name in cyrillic on the aft part of the conning tower.

The sub is british built yes, but used by the Yugoslawian navy. :woot:

And was also taken over and transferred to the Italian navy after Yugoslavia's initial defeat, though never commissioned/used by them.
