A nest full of fossilized dinosaur babies has been discovered in Mongolia, and the find has paleontologists reexamining styles of parental care among the ancient reptiles.

Each photo has different information about the foundings below.

Thanks for posting. Most interesting.

I echo some of the comments on the NG page: What killed them? I would imagine that if predators got them the corpses would be not only more damaged but scattered?

Of course since many dinosaurs were scavengers, even if they died of some disease/poisoning, scavengers should have pulled them a part.

I wonder if this nest was simply in the wrong place and was caught in a mud/landslide and thus preserved like that?

Way way cooleo. :yeah:

How many cities does Mongolia have? I was under the impression that apart from one or two that they were pretty much nomads.

About ~40% live in Ulan Bator (their biggest city) the other cities make up about ~30% of the population, the rest either live in smaller settlements or are nomads.

That being said their entire population is only as big as the three major cities of Upstate New York (Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse), in a space 50X as large!
