Visited the traditiona Krampus's of three lands (Parkeljni treh dezel). Scary masks, some more elaborate than other, metal music and acordians and lots of fire and cold. 12 groups from Slovenia, Italy and Austria and every year there are more.

Krampus is a mythical creature recognized in Alpine countries.[1] According to legend, Krampus accompanies St. Nicholas during the Christmas season, warning and punishing bad children, in contrast to St. Nicholas, who gives gifts to good children.

Around here Krampus is the distinctly non-mythical creature that accompanies Aunt Flo when she visits every four weeks or so. But judging by the pictures...

Actually, some of those masks look quite disturbing...the wife has asked for one :o
