Hey guys, just wanted to say hello. I recently discovered Silent Hunter, and have purchased 3, 4 and 5. I also have 3 and 4 modded, and from what i have seen so far they are brilliant! So immersive. Anyways i am running GWX 3 and TMO 2.2 and both are really good.
I am running 1920x1200 and both 3 and 4 look very good. I am running the Steam version of both. I purchased a hard copy of 5 and it hasn't come in yet.
My plan is to play 3 for a while, then move to 4, hoping 5 will be even better by the time i get there.
Any tips? Also, 3 looks very good widescreen. I read a lot of posts about people having issues, but i can barely even see stretching. Maybe GWX 3 fixed it?
Looking forward to chatting with the community!
BTW, when i send a American convoy to the bottom is it suppose to feel this good? Lol

WELCOME ABOARD! :sunny:
Any tips?
Post a lot. Any questions you have, please ask. Any observations or criticizms, don't be afraid to say so. Just don't be a stranger like so many others do. Oh, tips for the game? Well, have fun, ask questions etc.

I'm the same. I tried one of the widescreen mods, didn't like it much, don't see much stretching. I'm running 1440x900 because even with a 28" monitor my old eyes can't read the icons at any higher resolution, and it looks fine to me the way it is.

I was an American sailor, and it doesn't bother me a bit. Part of me says it's only a game, and part of me says I'm a good German kaleun doing his duty for the Fatherland. I really just like the boats.

No problems, take your time. I overreact because we have had thousands of people join, post once and are never heard from again. When someone new actually wants to talk I jump at the chance to encourage them. :sunny:

Sounds like a typical game forum!
Sounds like a typical game forum! Steve, meant no harm, and besides this is a forum far beyond what else is available with all valuable information, you can imagine,so there is no "Sounds like a typical game forums" :yep:
