Apologies for the misleading title but is this the beginning of Chinese world ownership? :DL
China tycoon Huang Nubo angered by Iceland land move
A Chinese business tycoon who hoped to buy a swathe of land in north-east Iceland has hit out at the government's decision to reject his bid.
Earlier this year Huang Nubo offered a billion krona (£5.4m; $8.8m) for the 300sq km (115 sq mile) Grimsstadir a Fjollum region.
But late last week Iceland's interior ministry said the deal did not comply with land sale rules.

TBH I would have thought anyone stupid enough to want a piece of barren land and pay for it to boot would be accepted with open arms.
Mind you, the Falklands was once considered in a similar fashion and look at the oil that's been discovered.
I'm wondering if the Chinese are gambling for something similar....minerals etc.
Why is the EU praying that China will save them?
BTW: The UK is now saying the same thing.

Well they're awash with $ apparently and may want to invest/purchase stakeholds with them before their economy goes off the rails.
