One has to wonder how these things ever get off the ground. Did anyone, either at the advertising agency or the advertiser's home office really think this was ever going to fly with the public? Perhaps the idea was to create a buzz for the product by stirring a controversy; however, the potential downside harm to sales must have been obvious. Just makes one wonder again about the level of sanity in corporate thinking and decision-makig...

But shows like the Jersey Shore are not derogatory towards Italian Americans? I forgot, Italians aren't a protected class in America.

They can always leave, Britian gave them their own country ya know.?

We all have to deal with being demeaned, just laugh and move on...

Italians aren't a protected class in America.
Neither are Jews. There's no protection here. It was an idea that went over badly and some people complained. The company could have ignored them, but figured if some complained, many wouldn't buy. Capitalism strikes again. :rock:
