Unfortunately there seem to be no rules against being a jerk in general.
Actually, there are. From http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/faq.php?faq=vb_faq#faq_rules3_faq_item Emphasis mine:
The Radio Room forum is not the place for flaming, spewing, or otherwise mouthing off. We do not allow posts where people are called idiots, morons, etc. We respect your freedom of speech, we ask that you respect our rules. You are welcome to express your opinion about games and other subjects. We do not want SUBSIM Review and the Radio Room forums to degenerate into a collection of *This game sux!!!!* and other immature rants. Like something or dislike something about a game, express your thoughts in reasoned and responsible terms. There are any number of forums which allow unbridled idiocy to reign, we want the Radio Room to be a civil, mature forum for discussions about naval and subsims, tactics, mods, playing tips, troubleshooting, and submarine topics in general. As such, we retain the right to edit and/or delete posts we find offensive. We also have the right to ban users who contribute to poisoning the well. Just as a radio talk host has the right to decide which callers he airs and a newspaper editor decides which letters he prints and which he throws away, the moderators in the Radio Room forums have final say on rants and spews they decide should be cut.
The rolls of the keelhauled are filled with people who couldn't stop acting like jerks.

Hey, I'm not the one trying to sneak obscenities, insults and personal attacks in "foreign" languages past forum administration. I don't really understand what you want here, but when you abuse the forum and get a slap on the wrist for it - deal with it and take it as a sign of goodwill and tolerance that you've been asked nicely, cautioned, and then corrected instead of downright banned.
Otherwise, this is an international forum, and the moderators usually do a good job of communicating and getting 2nd opinions when trouble is involved. A possible exception to that is Neal who can wield the banhammer freely, since let's face it - it's his house and his rules, but he also does a great job of consulting everybody and keeping the community friendly and reasonable, moderators included. That's not snitching, that's good administrative procedure - something to be proud of, unlike your behaviour here.

So you believe that I am so powerful that I am able to brainwash thousands of people from across the globe with the mere typing of my words. You also seem to feel that CCIP, a great moderator who has contributed more to this forum than I could ever hope to in many lifetimes, somehow works at my behest or is answerable to me in some way. I suppose that I should be flattered at your assessment of my ability to infuence. Maybe I should run for office. Or maybe you think I am powerful enough to run for god. Well you're asking me things you know the anwers better, don't you think so ? :) About how to maintain the system of order + solidarity, cooperation part, etc etc. Boring topic IMO =]
Well, for one thing, behaving rudely because other people somewhere in some other thread did so isn't considered civil and mature anywhere, last time I checked.
Talking things over calmly, or taking it up with the administration is always a civil and mature option (and not, as you suggest, snitching). And if you're not willing to do either, well, deal with it. Being a shining role model of rudeness and unwillingness to accept that this is a community and you're not the only one with opinions here isn't going to get you very far anywhere, not just subsim.

Which is why you brought it up in the first place, right? Of course, now you understand the ridiculous nature of what you have said and want to back out of it. That's fine, but you have to own it.
Really, you seem to have a problem with just about everyone on this forum. And, as the old saying goes, if you have a problem with everyone then the problem probably isn't with everyone. Step back and take some time away. Think about how you treat others, and how that makes them treat you in return. Be the change you want to see. You'll feel better.

This community is fine. It was fine before you were here. It is fine that you are here. It will be fine long after you have gone. The only problem that I can see is that you don't want to act in a civil manner on the fourms, which is one of our primary rules. You call it 'being free'. That is all fine and well, but when you are on this forum, using the bandwidth, you need to follow the rules. If not, there are consequences. You're trying to convince me that those rules should not apply to you, but that dog won't hunt. You can laugh at me all you want, but nothing is going to change that.
EDIT: Just saw your post above. If you could address me as 'Lord, my God' from now on, that would be most appropriate.

Hey, you're blowing this out of proportion more than anyone - it's just another day at Subsim in the meantime. I just thought it would be fair to give you a serious response if you were wondering where all of this was coming from. I know it's "lol internet" and you don't want to take it seriously, but it's also (from my perspective) nice to have a community where people are accountable for what they do, say, and how the club runs so to speak.
Subsim is no less prone to outbreaks of silliness and stupidity than anywhere else, but hey, we deal with it. That's my only wish for you too - just deal with things and people as they are, and give everyone a benefit of the doubt. As much as I think you made some disrespectful posts here, I think everybody's willing to give you the same benefit of the doubt. Just take it easy and remember that other people read this forum too.

OTH....that's the one I was thinking of :DL
How anyone could describe the people that gave the world Pushkin and Dostoevsky and Turgenev and Prokofiev and Stravinsky and Gogol and Mussogorsky and Faberge and Kadinsky and Tolstoy and Lermontev and Rimsky-Korsakov and Tchaikovsky amongst so many other who have had a positive and extremely important effect of western - and my own - cultural life as uncultured is completely beyond me. Even as a throwaway insult.
Unless, of course, the person making that claim is so uncultured himself that they haven't heard of any of these people.
Did Akula971 count as a troll? He was mad.

Well, now that I read it I remember my exchange with Firewall where he thought
I was being rude to him, but not much more than that.
Ow and you were talking about sushi.

Don't forget Dmitri Shostakovich. The guy managed to shape the direction of post-modern music despite Stalin's best efforts. He's long been one of my personal favorites.

I seem to recall he was fond of including oversized movie pictures in a lot of his posts. In the days of dial-up, that was a pain.
Wasn't around then, but for you old timers, his posts are still around:

Haw! That's right! yes, he had a mate! I forgot they were a double act! If I remember right there was some discussion over whether they were both actually the same person.
@Takeda: Ah yes, Dmitri Shostakovich, Of course! Mind you a full list of Russian cultural greats would probably fill many pages on it's own. My personal favourites are Stravinsky and Turgenev. 'Fathers and Sons' remains my favourite novel more than 20 years after reading it. And I listen to 'A Soldier's Tale' quite often after seeing the RSNO perform it with the narration by Kenneth Cranham (Pompey in Rome.) I was also lucky enough to visit Stravinsky's grave on the Isola San Michele across the lagoon from Venice a few years ago.
I studied Russian Literature as part of my degree and I love it. It's one of the four greats along with German, English, and French.
What I find slightly strange is that this isn't the first time I have seen Russia denigrated as uncultured. It's a weird insult to fling around. I think the applicable phrase here is: physician heal thyself.

To my understanding Russia has very rough edges as far as general population.
It can be attributed to lack of social balance due to difficult history of the country.
