Bert Jansch dead

I was quite taken back by this bit of news, the death of singer song writer Bert Jansch who died on the 11 Nov, he had been battling lung cancer for a while. I never actualy got to see him myself, although many of my 60s friends did and would always explain how better he was than Paul Simon, a life long favorite of mine who I was privileged to see at the Albert Hall.

Life is short and gets shorter every day.

That is sad news. I've always been a fan of Donovan, and Donovan was a big fan of Bert Jansch, which is how I heard of him in the first place.

It is sad, and he was a gifted song writer, but he died at the start of October I think.
