G'day all

Had to format C drive, so installed win 7 Ultimate vs win XP SP3. Additionally, I installed a new graphics card and updated the drivers. I then installed only several essential programs before loading SH4. I did have a problem with the U-Boat missions upgrade, as I posted here, but Ubisoft rectified the situation.

I added about 10 add-ons via jsgme. This took awhile as I checked how well SH4 was running after loading three or four add-ons at a time.

All look great and I was enjoying a better, more crisp, and responsive SH4 than ever before. While on my firs patrol I dumbed into a convoy. Taking out two large tankers I noticed all the graphics were spectacular except for the fires on the tankers; they were very blocky.

Not sure where or what I did to screw this up but would appreciate some suggestion how to rectify the blocky fire graphics.

Thanks

May have something to do with an Environment Mod you are running.

I remember this issue from awhile back. I am sure someone will come along that can provide you with an answer :yep:

There is a small mod that might help, but you'll have to find it in the subsim mods DL page, i think the mod is called.."repair blocky fire" and is probably under the graphic mods. You'll have to search through the pages, but it was there and still should be.

Have you tried adjusting your AA settings in your GPU control panel? BTW, what kind of graphics card do you have, NVIDIA or Radeon?

G'day all,

I really appreciate the responses and suggestions. I have a Nvidia 440GT with 1gb mem. Sh4 runs better than I've ever seen, so am very pleased with the new card. I did get the blocky fire graphics fixed. Loaded the main portion of PE4 and like magic all was well. I believe I still I have some conflicting "things" still going on so need to play more with the add-ons I selected to run. Once I have a good list of what works, I'll uninstall everything, including SH4, and start fresh.

Again, I appreciate the help, thanks.
