How sad when you are forced to resort to these measures :hmmm:
Sir Jimmy Savile's coffin has been encased in concrete as a "security measure" amid speculation about its contents.
Funeral director, Robert Morphet, said the decision had been taken after incorrect reports in the media about items placed in the grave.
He insisted nothing of monetary value had been buried with Sir Jimmy.

Well the article seemed to indicate that there were other rational for using concrete such as the foundation for some memorial.

Agreed....the article states the initial reason was security then further on says a secondary consideration was as a secure foundation for a memorial.
I suspect the initial plan was for the memorial to be at the end of the grave.

Ransoming bodies is an age old tradition. A good measure in my opinions. Wackos exist in every nation.

The secret service caught some people trying to steal and ransom the corpse of Abraham Lincoln, one of our more beloved presidents (southerners still hate him, but that is besides the point)
It is sad people cannot respect the dead. After all they are dead, they can't "bother" you anymore.
Well, at least we won't have to worry about him rising up as a zombie anymore.

Seriously, is this guy that important to people in the UK? He seemed like a pretty good guy, but how is he different from the other pretty good dead UK guys?
I wonder if this is just some publicity stunt? I mean they had to lay the concrete anyway, why not make it just a bit more newsworthy?

I think the answer to that would have to be 'YES' certainly to my generation in the younger days.
He gave a lot of pleasure and fun times to so many but no doubt there will be people who beg to differ...such is life.
