View Full Version : Editing User Profile page.
This is a little hard to explain but I will try, when viewing a users profile on the right hand side is a pull down menu showing the following:
Mini Statistics
Friends
Albums
Group Memberships
as well as others others, I pressed the collapse button:

a few times and this button disappeared (on a few titles) and I can't get it back, I cannot display these titles anymore, does anyone know how to fix this?:hmmm:

I've just tried pressing on the collapse button a second time and it brings them back for me.

I know what you mean, it's just disappeared on me too. Can't get them back even after refreshing page or revisiting!

I'm with Jim. I pressed the 'collapse' button and it disappeared, leaving a red 'X', but when I pressed that again it came right back.

Must be a browser thing. I've just used Chrome on another PC and it collapses and there is an image to re-open it. I say image, as the image didn't load it was just the default-for-an-image image. In Firefox, there is no image, as my image in post #3 shows.
Right then, this is Chrome's -

And this is IE's -

Confusing? Yes. Why is no image showing, and yet re-opening when clicked, apart from FF? :hmmm:

Precisely :yep:

Must be a browser issue....I'm using IE9 and can only presume Steve is using IE also.
Jim, could you try clicking this 3 or 4 times, it was ok for me twice, was the third or forth time it did it!:hmmm:
I get the same results as Herr-Berbunch with IE and FF, weird!

Sorry mate but it still works each time.....all I can suggest is leaving it alone at the show/no show setting you prefer :hmmm:
That's the problem Jim, it won't show anymore, there is no button to press, it's permanently no show now!

Go into Internet Options and delete your cookies after leaving the forum...if that doesn't work then I'm nearly stumped I'm afraid :hmmm:
You could also go into User CP > Profile Privacy and ensure the settings are set to 'Everyone'....if not change them to that and save.
If already set that way change them and save, exit SS then go back in and change settings to 'Everyone' again.
I checked every setting in User CP but couldn't find a "Profile Privacy" setting.:hmmm:

Very strange....it is missing.
I'll put a screenshot up when I get home mate.
Other than that all I can suggest is you look at your options and ensure everything that you think is enabled actually is.

It would appear your missing the option beneath Edit Your Details
http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/6357/unledpgb.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/42/unledpgb.jpg/)
Clicking on Profile Privacy (if you had that option) would bring up
http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/8509/unled2ir.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/233/unled2ir.jpg/)
which gives you further options of what can be made viewable.
I have never seen that option before, I wonder if others have this problem, I just checked with IE but it is also missing, could this be due to being a moderator and given extra powers/functionality? Might be time to contact Neal.:hmmm:
I checked all other settings under User CP but all seems to be correct and nothing there that would cause this.:06:

Not as far as I'm aware....I think I've always had that option.
Hopefully someone else will check out their options to confirm either way.
You might still want to drop Neal a PM to be doubly sure.

Profile Privacy is missing from my UserCP too.

That's interesting.....honestly :DL
I'll PM a couple of non contributors/non moderators to this thread and get a broader consensus...Reece might just be right regarding moderator status.

Here it isn't! Not that I go there and fiddle with much, so it doesn't matter to me, but for a fiddler like Reece... :O:

Okay....two of the three have responded confirming they don't have said facility either so if TarJak (time difference allowing) confirms similarly...it must be a moderator status/functionality thing :hmmm:

So you'll have it too?
If so that decides it for me....TarJak will then probably come back saying he hasn't :yep:

TarJak has replied stating he has that facility so I guess it's down to PMing Neal.
Sorry mate but one did one's best to get a resolution :-?
Thanks Jim,:yeah: I can live without it, I was more curious than anything else, seeing that I'm not alone on this I'll let it go, thinking about it I won't bother Neal, he has a lot on his plate already!:yep:
