I used the same computer to play SH1 and SH2, as well as Aces Of The Deep, and the one I have now for SH3, SH4 and SH5, though I do need an upgrade to run SH5 properly.

Computer hardware is outdated ~ every 4-6 months (PC). Just for that reason I build a new system every year to keep up with latest hardware.

Laptops are even worse. A laptop is outdated in ~ 3 months. When it comes to laptops it does pay to buy a high end one so you can make it 'last' for at least 6 months to a year.
