I have an old 1kw UPS, it is a stand alone unit, no connection to the PC except for the power cord, if the power drops out the unit cuts in and works well, has done for years, only just replaced the 3 12v batteries.
As some of you know I have recently moved and the power is supposed to be 240v but at night drops to around 220v now if I run the air conditioner its starting current pulls the power down to around 205v and the UPS cuts in for a few seconds then cuts off, this continual cutting in and out drives me nuts and doesn't do much for the UPS I'm sure!:x
What I need is a voltage regulator/stabilizer and wondered if this unit would do the job:

OR:

Somewhere there was mention of AVR, I wouldn't have a clue what that is about!:hmmm: Any advice would be appreciated.:yep:
