Hello,
Well It's about time I made an introductory topic, I've been putting it off for far too long..
My name is Montray,
I have been a Silent hunter player since the day Silent hunter 3 came out. (which is not very hardcore, I know, knowing that some of you fellas have been playing submarine sims for far longer.
I recently wanted to get back into silent huntering after being away from it for a long time (since playing silent hunter IV for about a year after it came out, non stop)
I am a bit of a noob still at playing this game, especially the manual targeting, I am very very poor at math and degrees calculating and such, really, I need a calculator for calculating 2+2, so I have had rather difficulties getting into manual targeting.
So I've never had that monumental day when I thought "TODAY, I will play 100% realism and never EVER look back"
I bought Silent hunter V after many many, many discouraging posts about it being 'broken'.
And even with mods, I can't really get into the game.
So I strapped into my gaming throne and loaded up steam and Silent hunter IV and I haven't seen daylight for about 2/3 weeks.
I still very much enjoy it and the main reason for making this post is that I want to get into the community aspect of these kinds of games.
And the subsim community comes highly regarded and is from about 99% of the people I hear talking about it highly respected for their intelligence and ability to help people, ok now I'm just kissing ass, but still, I hear alot of good things : P
I am dutch and 25 years old
Really hope this posts isn't too long, if so.. I'm sorry, If not, I hope you enjoy.
Kind regards,
Montray

Never spent much time up north but did travel the south extensively...a beautiful country.
I lived in Schellenberg and still maintain contact with a few of my friends over there.
EDIT: Oh, en verontschuldigingen voor de achtergrondgeluiden hierboven :DL

Hrm, Schellenberg, have never heard of it to be honest  I did a wiki on it, and all I got was an article about a german town, I assume that was my fault? :P
Great to see someone here speaking my native language though and thanks for the welcoming committee sir!

My apologies...Schellenberg was the name of the street and the area was called Sterrenburg
The company I was sub contracted to was VAF Instruments:

Welcome to Subsim, you will find most people here only too happy to help, I agree with SHV, however the community mods by members such as TheDarkWraith have made huge advances in the game, there are sooooooooo many mods, I am waiting for TDW to release a new version of MO then I will give it a go again, SH3 is my favorite still!:yep:

Yeah I know what you mean, SH3 is better than SH4, but the graphics in 4 are much better in my opinion, and you can run it in Widescreen.
And I have a pretty expensive video card so I always feel cheated when I play an older game, like I bought the card for nothing :P
