I was just transfered to Lor. France ( 2nd Flotilla ) . On returning to base do I dock at the pier that I departed from or do I dock at one of the spots in the bunkers ?

It doesn't matter. If you're anywhere near the base when you quit the game it will ask if you want to "Dock At Lorient?" It's all the same to the game.

As Steve said, it makes no difference to the game, so if you want to sail all the way in (for fun and/or realism) than simply pick your favorite spot. :sunny:

Be careful not to hit a dock on the way in. I used to drive my boat all the way home after every patrol until I accidentally slammed the engines to flank to close the dock and rammed it causing significant damage.

I always bring it all the way back in , you could say my patrols are pier to pier .

I also wrecked a few subs doing this. Oh the joys of the Eastern front.

This is why I always obey the 5-knot speed limit when within the inner harbor, and stay at 1 knot when leaving or entering the pier itself. I've never bumped anything (well, learning to navigate the lock gates was interesting until I got it right).

If you want the band and the nurses to welcome you home, dock at the pier you left from.

I guess they couldn't 'wade' all the way to the pier... :haha:

The Captain Picard teleporter is great for when I'm tired and just finished a 10 hour (irl) patrol and just want to get home and finish. Otherwise I'll usually get to within at least 30 km of the port, or within visual range of the docks which is plenty realistic for me.

I like the band and the adulation, so I creep in ever so slowly, have a whisky and a cigarette. :D

I thought that's what you did when you were going to the senior special at Dennys :rotfl2:

I can't eat those. It's like a kids' meal - sure, it costs less, but they don't give you enough to eat either. :nope:
