Awhile back, I had a mod that permitted me to play with a Super or Uber VII within GWX. I remember that it had a much larger amount of ammunition, torpedoes and probably was faster both surfaced and submerged. I think I was able to take out the entire Dogger Bank Task Force with this sub.

Can anyone direct me to any mods with these types of submarines, it does not not need to be any special type of submarine?

I'd like to run this with my 4-yr old son so I keep him interested in all the action. He gets bored as a set up the shots and this type of sub is quicker to prepare for an attack.

Thanks,
BP

What a beast!
It looks like the bastard spawn of a type VIIF and a u-flak
Substitute 3 twin 3.7 cm heavy flak guns for what's on there now, and God help the R.A.F pilot who comes within range!

Between the deck gun and all those extra flak guns adding to the drag coefficient, plus the added weight of those extra eels and the ammo for the flak guns, that boat will be doing good to make 2 knots underwater at flank speed, and even then the hydroplanes might not be able to keep it from sinking to the bottom.

With Realistic Reloads turned off, that thing could decimate a convoy and its escorts. All it is lacking is the 2nd stern tube.........or use a modified US Gato class fleet boat with 6 tubes forward and 4 aft. THAT would be a real convoy killer.

Not very historical, or even realistic, but it sure should keep a kid glued to the computer.

The super VII/42 is a real beast, if you're looking to make the game easy enough for him to sink ships easily and get away without having to use muct strategy you could also use a XXI in 1939. With its underwater speed and ability to outmaneuver any escorts you come across makes it a boat that dominates for at least a year after starting in 39.

Thanks Fish,
This is exactly what I was looking for, my son will love this sub. Hopefully he'll let me have a chance at playing SH3.

I tried both links in the referenced thread, and despite being registered there, I keep getting this message:
