Tomorrow myself and UK Independence Party members from all over the country will remonstrate outside the Parliament at Westminster while inside, MPs will debate holding a referendum on our membership of the decadent and corrupt European Union. I wonder if there are any UKIP members or supporter here.

USKIP? Pray tell.
I think trying to disengage from the EU now would be like trying to rip a limb off a living patient, it'll be messy, the limb will die and the patient will go into severe shock and probably die too. Like it or not we're stuck with it, well, until it goes down the toilet anyway.

No way we are about to leave Europe atm...sadly!!

This^
And even if we did, its too late now, when Greece goes down, we will be caught in the EU shock waves regardless of what we do now.
And anyway.. im taking my son to the science museum tommorow.
I might pop by St Pauls next week, see what's going on, but otherwise it'll be the usual haunts, the shopping malls for the missus, the IWM and possibly the RAF Museum for me. :yep:

Agreed.
I'm a big fan of European integration but it needs to be democratically accountable. Hopefully we will come out of the other side of this current crisis with lessons learned and something that actually benefits people's lives at a noticeable level.
Don't leave, just build a moat and isolate yourselves.
I think part of the problem with the European debate is that there are a sizable number of people that believe the English Channel is a moat.

Well it should be a moat. As should every country's border. Why fight for national sovereignty only to have politicians lob it to the dogs?
On the subject of museums, Manchester has a science and indusrty museum which is great. I am going to see the S.S. Great Britain next friday.

Our Declaration of Independence shows we're pretty good a drawing up illegal documents. Maybe we could come up with a few choice phrases for our British Brosefs.

No, May gave her speech with the made up "fact" at the start of October, two days later Huhne noted that it was identical to the made up "fact" Farange put in his speech in July.
That was funny mind.
It was, two loonies both using madeup "facts" and insisting they are really true.
So you are marching in suppport of one of these loonies then?

I forgot to mention...I was at the Northern Imperial War Museum in July, it's a stones throw from Old Trafford but don't let that put you off LOL.
There is a US Harrier suspended from the ceiling as you enter the main hall and admission is free and it is well worth a visit:

Course they won't. They've already given their MPs the choice between listening to their electorate or keeping their jobs.
Did you really expect any thing else from the party who took us into the EU to start with?
Did you really expect any thing else from the party who took us into the EU to start with?
Back then it was the common market which was find as it was but as time went on that evolved into the EEC which morphed into the EU which has become to powerful.
As a side note when the gutter press kicks up a stink look what the EU has forced on to us now etc etc etc. Not true, the British government of the day be it Con or Lab or this Con/Lib one now, all them have and will continual to be a load of spineless gutless swine who will not stand up and...SAY NO!
Why don't they just put the White Flag up and be done with it without BSing us the voter saying look what we did standing up...ALL LIES.

Very true :yep:
MPs have rejected a call for a referendum on the UK's membership of the European Union, despite a significant rebellion against Prime Minister David Cameron.
The motion was opposed by the Conservatives, Lib Dems and Labour, yet 111 voted for the motion, 483 against.

Well there you have it the bloody crooks win...... Sorry the criminal scum.
Our governments are sold out to co-operations so it doesnt matter who is power anymore - the result is the same.
Western democracy is a just a mask for the co-operate dicatorship, our ballots are not worth the paper they are printed on.
On the bright side -at least we still have free speech :woot:

Yes. Because the wider issues are more important than the odd irregularity. I'm not even terribly concerned eith the economic situation. The economies of the world go up and down all the time anyway. The fundamental point of national sovereignty counts for far more.

I went a few years ago. Most museums are rubbish these days. The new one in Liverpool is a disjointed load of bollocks. Half the pace is taken up by the stairwell. The artefacts are somewhat randomly chosen and placed. The Maritime museum is far superior. I remember when the World museum in Liverpool(called Liverpool Museum before they built the new crap)was really atmospheric. Although it is still well filled with things of interest the new jazzy layout is excremental. They are ripping apart the oldie Picton Library too and turning it into something resembling an airport lobby. Nobheads.
Although they will keep part of the old library it as it is listed. The best museums are things like ships and aircraft that you can crawl all over.

Well it was a very interesting day in London. Up at 430, breakfast of sausage and crumpets before pickup at 6 and then rendezvous in Lymm with the UKIP bus and on to London. Arrival at 12 and parades and demos outside Parliament
until we went insode at 330pm. Lobbying MPs and leaving at 6pm. Home at midnight. Very nice to see so many party members at the event. I even got a freebie boathook from one of the disused plackards for my narrowboat haha!

Dont have much of a problem with that, if you insight crime or make threats - you go down for it.
The Riots were not a political protest, it was just theft, vandalism and arson 'because we can'.
Im talking more about a comparison with say China where its illegal to speak out against the Government.

Odd irregularities??????
The fundamental point of national sovereignty counts for far more.
Leaving aside that the very regular "odd irregularities" generally turn out to be bolloxwhen it comes to europe, isn't it funny that your party of dissafected tories can only seem to get national representation in europe.
Still look on the bright side, as the tories go once more into their old rip the party apart and stab the leader in the back phase UKIP may get some defections..which may make up for the defections in europe where one rejoined the tories and another left because of ...what was it again ? UKIPS relationship with racists and extremists.:03:
Still, glad you enjoyed your day out, it is a marvelous building you were in.
ABBAFAN
10-25-11, 05:14 PM
Yes the relationship with racists etc is unfortunate. Although i would say it is more a matter of public perception which needs correcting. I would be interested to know more about this defector though. Do you know how long back it was?

How can it be public perception when it was the people in the party complaining about the anti semites racists and extremists they are allied with?
Do you know how long back it was?
Well the election came in march the nationalists all fell out with each other in June(as nationalists tend to do) they tried to reform as a new group but were having problems with how to work it with the youthful neo nazi exuberance of one fellow who had replaced a rather disredited jew hater and all that was after another party had dropped a holocaust denier into their laps.
By January one of the UKIP representatives had had enough of the sillyness and complained about the extremist nuts and got sort of thrown out of the party.:hmmm:
ABBAFAN

UKIP is not allied with extremists. The BNP are fierce rivals and the EDP are not going to be merging with UKIP because of their fringy agenda. We have a certain number of members from ethnic minorities. In fact our candidate for London Mayor was a black fellow. I can understand why people may associate the party with the far right but it is not a party of extremists. I can say that as someone who is in it and knows many of the members. There are racists and that sort of people all over society. I personally have no intertest in such politics.

What have the BNP & EDP got to do with it?
Though it does sound a bit like a scene from a Monty Python film.
The alliance with extremists is on the european stage.
Though you can see the sort of problems to be expected. If the UK nationalists can't get on with the British nationalists or the english nationalists let alone the Scots Welsh and Irish nationalists it doesn't tend to be a great alliance when you try and join Lithuanian Greek Danish nationalists and Italian seperatist nationalists, Slovak national socialists plus some dutch bible bashers on a mission from their god.

My British friends,
Independence is a wonderful thing. You don't owe nobody nothing. Have to answer to nobody, and have to pay for no ones profligacy. Take it from an American, we know a little about "defying"
Break the status quo" (sorry mother Britain, we still love you:)) away from a certain leaders attempted financial tyranny. She isn't helping you any. This woman has her own countrys health in consideration.
God bless you guys for never completely coming off the pound. When you need sense, see the Brits.
