Gentlemen,

Greetings and thank you for your kindness, support, and contributions of fine work here.
I've got a clean install of SH5 and patched.

I've poured over threads the last two days and most recently this one in regard to a noob 'mod pack' that would get one up and running in SH5.

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=184818

I've installed Magnum_Opus_v0_0_1 + Patch_2

When I attempt to activate (via generic installer)

"FX_Update_0_0_16_2_ByTheDarkWraith"

I get a dialog box that points out a few conflicts. Do I simply 'ok' those and continue with activation?
I've done this but the game crashes soon after leaving the bunker and start plotting way points out of Kiev.

I had already installed the anti-lag and set it at 2 and 36.

No other mods installed except below. I followed install instruction in regard to being in port and load/save/restart.

current mods:

Generic Mod Enabler - v2.6.0.157
[F:\silenthunter5\MODS]

Magnum_Opus_v0_0_1
Magnum_Opus_Patch_2
one ship, one torpedo v1.00
Enhanced FunelSmoke1.2_by HanSolo78

Clean Windows 7 rig with tons o ram and Nvidia geforce gtx, amd athlon 64 duals.

suggestions?

Thank you!

I stumbled upon the tutorial videos and it appears the MO patch is not installed as in the video. I simply used the generic installer to add the MO then I added the MO patch and 'assumed' the generic installer would 'patch' over the v.1
I'll go back and activate those mods as per the videos.

Wow, it's a beautiful sim. The information is out there, but man you got to really read through alot of threads and piece it all together.
Installing as per the videos seems to have done the trick. The generic enabler is not as automated as some of the mod files lead me to believe. One must do some digging through the subfolders and edit/activate those individually. Glad the video cleared that up.

I'm amazed at the lengths many of you have gone through to create these mods, sincere thanks to each of you again.
I'm only having one issue so far at this point with blank screens in the periscope views. I'll post a separate thread with photos.

Hi guys, I resolved an issue I was having with the blank screen in periscope view and bino view by rearranging the order of installed mods.
When I load my campaign game, I start out on the outside deck... I get around 30 fps, smooth and beautiful.

As soon as I look down at the open hatch to enter the sub, it immediately drop to 2-4 fps, making it impossible to move around thereby having to return to windows. :damn:

I've used my Fraps and Screenshot grabber to capture some screens showing the benchmarks, but they will only capture my desktop and not the sim.

Control + F11 takes a screenshot and saves it to your SH 5 folder. I personally wouldn't install Magnum_Opus_v0_0_1, because it adds a lot of stuff that can slow you down. I suggest you start slowly, install latest versions of TDW's FX update, IRAI and UI mod and see if things work.

If things work, you should try OH II too. Good luck with the mod soup! :DL

Thank you for that sir :salute: I'll try it.
I was about to shelve it. I'm on day four of reading threads and loading/installing and I'm down to only tdw MO patched and fx update, still getting ctd's.

Back to the drawing board.
