Dear Beloved
I am sending you this mail in good faith. I am Mrs. Dorothy Armstrong now undergoing medical treatment for cancer. My late husband was a contractor with the United Kingdom consulate for many years before his death in 2002. We have an account with a financial institution in the UK where we deposited our life savings. Recently, I have being diagnosed with a terminal cancer and only have few months to live due to the cancer problem.

Having known my condition; I have decided to nominate you as my beneficiary since the financial company has now written me that the length of time agreed upon to hold my funds have now expired. My desire and purpose is for you to promote humanitarian works. I.e. assisting the less
privileged and building orphanage homes in your country and to upset my medical bills.

Please assure me that you will act accordingly as I stated herein. I will give you further details when I hear from you via email: mrsarmstrong@dofastmail.info

In His Arms.
Mrs. Dorothy Armstrong:har::har:

I think I'll sign that email address up to some nasty spam websites. Feel free to do the same - spam the spammers, oh the irony:salute:

I've got quite a few junk mail emails in my hotmail inbox... muhuhaha!

I remember reading once about a guy who replied to these things agreeing to help with their plight, but also that he was wary and had heard of people being conned out of money, so could they prove their worth by sending a token amount (something like $1) to him.

Some did, some didn't. Needless to say he didn't continue assisting them. :D

I've just had a quick check on snopes, and it's doesn't appear to be there, so must be true. :hmmm:

Thats site is pure comedy gold. I think I read about Mister bread on the head. The e-mails to him saying he didn't do it right, and making him do it again (and again) were hilarious.

Then when he realized he was being messed with , more lulz to be had.

hehe, we have a term on another forum when a user posts a picture claiming to be their new car/house/computer/girlfriend etc "Hovis, or it didn't happen" - the user has to pose with a loaf of hovis bread to prove legitimacy.... in one case it let to a member taking a photo of himself with only a loaf of bread covering his private parts, I forget why, but it became an epic thread with much amusement had by all, eventually someone went a bit too far and the thread was locked.

I guess the credit crunch really is a global phenomenon - all of these are from the last week. It's a little out of the ordinary for me as usually I get very little of this kind of thing, mostly it's US adverts for loans or canadian medication.
