Hi all,
I have installed SH3 with the 1.4 patch and have had no issues with graphics etc :D
However I have installed the GWX 3.0 Gold Mod and have noticed that when using the external view during the day and night I can only visually see my sub at periscope depth, any deeper and it just turns dark. I had no problems viewing it with stock SH3.. is this ment to happen?
Also is there a mod that with deckwash the water is seen flowing out of the vent holes when the sub is moving etc?
Thanks Hunters :salute:

WELCOME ABOARD! :sunny:
Yes, it's intentional. GWX is meant to be a realism mod before anything else, and you can't see all that far underwater, especially in the North Atlantic. If you use SH3 Commander (and you should, for several good reasons) it's very easy to reset the visibility for what you want.

The water in stock/vanilla was a little like tap water I always thought but as Steve correctly staes, use SH3 Commander and in the options section go to gameplay settings and set the water clarity to the maximum allowed (20)....this will take you to approx. 75% of what the stock/vanilla water transparency was.

It goes in the MODS folder, inside the main SH3 folder. It can then be activated with JSGME, which you'll also find inside the main SH3 folder.

No worries, there's no such thing as a dumb question - only dumb answers... :03:
The first time you run JSGME, it'll create the 'MODS' folder automatically. Simply place the JSGME.exe in your main SH3 directory and run it. Once that's done, you should click on 'Tasks...' and select 'Generate snapshot of game files.' This often comes in handy down the road in helping to identify changes as a result of enabling and disabling various mods.
After that, copy the new mod into the 'Mods' folder and run JSGME again to activate. Last but not least, enjoy the nifty modification! :sunny:
