List,
So I am just finally modding my new copy of SH5 and let me first say, thank you to all those that have and take the time to Mod, just great! I just have fun patrolling around and seeing all the new changes...again,Thanks for the efforts.

Now, finally, after a while I locate a merchant and the hunt is on.....using the same tactics as I used in SH3 I soon realized...this is not the same...I tried to use the TDC via the 2nd in command and it was just a joke....finally I am about 200M away on the surface and just ditched the TDC and guessed what I was doing, just lead an "eel" and fired and it hit and sunk....wow....really, really sloppy...but it worked...

Now that the excitment is over...is there a tutorial somewhere that explains in a little more detail how it is supposed to work in SH5?....

Thanks for any and all tips.:)

Congrats on your first kill! :)

Stoianm has a lot of great video tutorials covering most every aspect of the game in this thread (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=181538).

Since you have experience with the TDC I'd suggest skipping the Auto TDC stuff and do it "for real". :) Personally I always try to setup the "Fast 90" type attacks where I get into a 90 degree attack position then just set my bearing to 0, AoB to 90 (or -90), range to whatever it is (usually try to keep it around 1200 or so) and set the ships range. Then rotate the scope till the gryo says 0 (usually -10 or +10 degrees) and fire when the ship passes the wire.

There's lots of other ways of playing though, so check out some of the videos and see what you like. I've been trying the Real Navigation mod recently and enjoy it, but my maps always end up off no matter how many times i follow the procedure to track a target. For example I've tried the four bearing methods 7 times now and it's only worked properly for me once. :(
