View Full Version : Cease all....
While patrolling around in Happy Times and not finding a lot to shot at I received a message that said "Cease all operations and return to BDU". So I turn around and head back to Germany. I plan to dock at Bremen. When I get the anchor sign I click on it and try to select "end mission". I can only "refit" or "postpone". Did I do something wrong or is this a bug? Should I try to dock elsewhere or what? :damn:

Thanks, I'll give it a try.
That did it. I am headed to L'Orient!

My problem seems to fit neatly into this thread so I'll see if maybe someone can help me out also.
For the last several days I've been operating in the Eastern Coastal waters of England as part of the first campaign after the tutorial and have only seen two ships, both merchant vessel. Under the heading of "even a blind hog gets an acorn now and again" I managed to sink them both for a total of 11,481 tons; still a long way from the required 40,000 tons to complete the campaign.
Now I am frequently getting the following message;
"Date: 9/15/1939 00:1
From: Belehlshaber der U-Boote
To: Uboats operating in area designated "coastal waters" new objective available, "Breaking the Fortress".
I haven't a clue how to handle this message or even what, if anything, I'm supposed to do about it.
Any help would be most appreciated.

I think that's just telling you that you can now get that mission. Missions can be completed over the course of several patrols, you don't have to sink all 40,000 at once. Also some missions aren't available till a certain date. That message was just telling you of new mission options.

Thanks kylania,
That has to be a world's record time for a fast response!
Not being too quick I still don't understand how to do what they are asking me to do. Do I go back to some base and start another campaign before finishing this current one?

'Breaking The Fortress' is the second mission of the first campaign (sounds like OHII you're using); the first is Eastern Coastal Waters (I think).
Like Kylania says, you don't have to complete a mission within a single patrol. The ships you sink close to the red coastal line that appears when you click on your main mission will gradually fill up the progress bar for that mission. Ships outside this area won't count towards mission success. Eventually you'll need to rearm and you'll head back to Kiel and refit, or end your patrol to begin another fresh.
Now you have Breaking The Fortress available, you'll see another mission cross on the map (both at sea and in the bunker), up near Scapa Flow in the North of England. That mission is to infiltrate the English harbour and sink one Capital class vessel. If you've finished Coastal Waters, or fancy a change, you can select this mission in the bunker like you did the first.
You can head up to Scapa at any time (watch your fuel and torps of course, refit if necessary), infiltrate, sink the ship and the mission will count as complete, even while you're at sea on another mission. Make sure you note the deadline for missions, some are earlier than others.
You'll also have periods where you have no main 'mission' offered from base. During this, just patrol where you like, and when the date for the next mission rolls around you'll be notified by radio just like you were this time. Eventually you'll complete all the missions for that campaign and move on to the next.
*All of this assumes you're using OHII, if you're on stock campaign things may differ!

Nope, campaigns will force themselves upon you when they are ready. :) Many are date related.
So what happens is you start the first campaign. You have 2-3 missions (the black crosses on the map) to select from. These are your missions, like sink 40,000 tons off the coast one.
Each time you undock is a patrol. The patrol will give you a yellow icon where you need to "patrol". Just head to that area, sink a ship and it'll complete. You get more points for doing that.
At anytime you're able to return to your base to rearm or refuel, completing that patrol. Your mission is still active so next time you undock you can keep working on that. You'll see a little grey line under the mission fill up showing your progress.
When the next campaign is available (the picture tree you started at) it'll force you to end your current campaign (even if you're in the middle of an attack sometimes!) and move you to the next one where you'll usually have new missions or sometimes a new base.
I haven't played for a while so I'm not sure of the exact dates but often times you'll want to save right before a campaign end date so that you have a save file you can reload and pick a different path if you wanted to.
There's also a program that'll let you unlock all the campaigns and play them in whatever order you wanted somewhere. :)

No program, just type 'silentotto' on the campaign screen. :D

That would explain why I can't find that program! Not that I have to worry about it, not being able to connect to Ubisoft at the moment.
Thanks for the tip though!
