I checked the Win 7 thread but didn't see anything concerning this so any help would be obliged. I'm running Win 7 and the grahpics seem a bit choppy when I'm looking around the control room but only in the control room and only when I'm slowly looking around. I've never experienced this before so if anybody has encountered it I'd appreciate the help. Thanks!

I can't say I've experienced this myself, so I'm afraid I can't be of much assistance... except to say that it's probably a good idea to post your system specs and a rundown of any mods you might be using. That may help others point you in the right direction. :yep:

I still have XP, but what I'd like to find out is when during the game you're experiencing this. I have choppy graphics in the control room as well, but only at the start, because the game is still loading even then. After a few minutes it settles down.

You know Steve that may be my problem as well because it was really bad in the beginning and then it started to calm down but I wasn't on very long as my wife kicked me off to do homework. I'll check it out now, BTW I'm running GWX and the only non GWX mod I have installed is lifeboats & debris.

Good luck. I hope that's all it is.

GWX was designed to work on similar specs to stock/vanilla so I'd be interested in knowing your specs because it sounds like they could be a little on the low side in either RAM or in the Graphics dept.

Ahoy Jimbuna thanks for your input but I don't think that's the case (I could be wrong). I'm running:
AMD Phenom II X6
1045T Processor
8GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT 430
I should have no problem with this should I? Also after letting it load and playing for awhile the Control Room graphics problem does not seem to get much better. Could it be my resolution?

I assume you've got the 64-bit OS?
If so, with that much RAM on board, I'd suggest getting the 4GB patch if you haven't already. Unpatched, the game's .exe will only use a max of 2 gigs RAM; with the patch, it will use up to 4 gigs provided it's available.
I don't know if it will help with your current problem, but it can't hurt - and it will be a big help if you eventually decide to add some of the more resource-intensive mods. :yep:

Thanks for the advice Frau I've never heard of that mod but will install it as I'm desperate to solve this problem.

You're welcome. As I said I don't know if it will help, with only GWX and the Lifeboats mod I don't think RAM should be an issue, I know I ran those plus many other mods without problems before using the patch. But it can't hurt you to have it in the long run even if it doesn't fix this particular problem.
I'm not familiar with your GPU, though. I do know some nVidia users have had to do some tweaking in the GPU software sometimes, have you tried different settings for all the 3D stuff to see if that makes any difference?

Those specs are far more than sufficient...try updating your drivers but if you've already got the latest go back to a previous/older one.

Welp I installed the High Res Fix and that didn't do the trick so now I am attempting to rollback my nvidia driver to see if this helps...

That did not work...I'm completely stumped, the high res fix won't work even though I follow the instructions, the older nvidia driver didn't do the trick, I've tried running in different compatibility modes I'm not sure what else I can do. The screen choppiness isn't game breaking it's just VERY irritating, kind of like when you would have to adjust your rabbit ears on an old TV, it's like a horizontal line thing going on..
EDIT: I'm using 1920X1080 resolution
If you're talking about the image 'tearing' as you pan around, I have the same problem (1920x1080, GTX460), although I just grin and bear it now. I think it's related to Vertical Sync, or 'Synchronisation' in the SH3 options menu. I've not played with it myself but you may want to try different settings until it improves, or not. If you force options using Nvidia Control Panel, (or nHancer maybe), try unchecking Synchronisation in the game menu and force Vertical Sync via Control Panel, or vice versa and see if there's any difference.

I had a little bit of this even with an ATI/AMD GPU, so it's definitely not just an nVidia thing. Haven't gotten back into the game yet since changing computers and reinstalling to see how it does now and what I can start tweaking if it does.

Try 1680x1050

Yeah it's that tearing that I am experiencing lol I racked my brain thinking of the right way to describe this. I'll mess with my sync and see what happens I think I have it unchecked now. Just living with it is an alternative I guess but I just can't seem to not get irritated by it hahahaha.

Alright I tried 1680X1050 and for some reason when I change the resolution to that (or others) nothing happens when I click on the SH3 GWX icon. I've tried running the entire gamut of resolutions and I either get a 3d failure pop-up or simply nothing happens when I click on the icon. Thanks again gents for sticking with me on this minor problem.

Well I'm sorry matey but this one has me stumped....the only other suggestion I have would be to download GWX again (from the link above my sig), carry out a registry clean and put in a freash installation.
