No contacts for the first two weeks of patrol in the mid atlantic. Finally cleared to move at my discretion.
Sitting NW of Aberdeen, just off the shelf, I miss a convoy. Couldn't move faster than the 10 knots speed of the convoy due to sea state.
I regroup and hear a single merchant moving at high speed. An hour later, I sink a 10,000 ton troop ship!
Six hours later, I hear another high speed merchant.
Move into position and wait. Raise the TC, and the phone rings.
The contact shoots right past me and is 2200 meters away before I hit pause.
A quick check of the scope to see what I just missed...
44,000 tonne HMT Aquitania moving at 24 knots. :damn::damn::damn:
