Help can't play the game!!

Hi, I recently got the game but can't play it on my netbook. First of all I was getting the "cannot initilise 3D engine" error but I changed the resolution to 1024x768 and it played the intro fine but after it completed the title page loading screen (which weirdly I can scroll up and down) it just crashes with an error "encountered a problem and needs to close"

Any ideas?

2gb
128mb Intel 945m

This is much newer game than I usually play on my my netbook (Infinity engine games, jagged alliance 2, system shock 2 etc etc stuff like that which all play perfectly) but I wouldnt mind playing it if I can. I have searched but dunno what else I can try.. thanks

Hi, and welcome aboard.
I don't think any of the SH 3,4,5 can play on a net book.
I would try SH2; it is a fairly good game with the mods.

One of the biggest disadvantages of netbooks:

Not powerful enough for gaming or watching movie

I can run it on my laptop, but it's got a pretty good bus speed of around 2 GHz. As mentioned previously, Netbooks are frequently an issue due to lack of resources.

thanks for the replies. I guess I can't run it. My netbook plays old games just fine and also movies, it has no problem there. I thought this might be too much though but hey for £1.99 I can try when I get a PC a bit more powerful :)

I would try SH2 but I don't like playing an inferior version when I know theres a better version out there so yeah..

I tried that "can you run it" site and it says I fail on Hardware T&L and Vertex Shader.

Yes the built in GPU of the Atom isn't that capable. Sorry.
