I do also recommend SH3 Commander! If you want to try it, download it at: http://www.silenthuntermods.com/forum/index.php?topic=103.0
Be sure to download the cfg files for sh3 commander so you can run it with GWX3. (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=1421):salute:

Direct the GWX installer to the Steam Apps folder. This is where it houses all of SH3's core files.

Also, your current campaign will not be compatible with GWX, it's advisable to delete the SH3 folder in My Documents but see how you go.

Hi Fubar

Thanks, but I am pointing the browser at the SH3 folder
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\silent hunter 3\SH3

and am still getting the disc request.

Is this the right pathway?

I'm going to reinstall the game on steam so I have a completely clean install.

Just to get something clear in my head UKsub, did you place all the gwx .bin files and the .exe in a seperate folder then run the .exe before you tried installing to SH3 ?

Best regards.

Ive got the exe and bins in a single folder on my hard drive. Am I supposed to seperate the .exe from the .bins then?

Sorry if im being a bit thick

@UKsub

No the way you have them is correct, in a single folder. Look in that folder and click the .exe. This should launch GWX 3 installer, you can then point to the correct sh3 path. What you posted before looks good to me, tho that is a little guesswork. My version of sh3 isn't steam.

Best regards.

When I was reinnstalling SH3 on my computer, I was getting that 'disk' error message. How did I solve it? I renamed the bin files!:yeah: PS: Good hunting Uksub!:up:
