View Full Version : I've lost my recognition manual!

Feel free to mock me for this one but I can't find it anywhere :oops:

When I press e to show all the charts and such, everything else is there but no recognition manual. I've tried going to the periscope and it doesn't show up there even. Is there still a hotkey or a button somewhere for bringing it up?

Obviously I'm using mods but nothing that I could think would mess with it, the only mod I'm running that changes the recog manual (as far as I know) is TDW's_UI and I'm fairly sure I've used it since I installed that.

So has anyone got any ideas where its gone/how to get it back?

Check the very extreme left/righ/up of your screen look for a small tab just poking out, might be there if not i have no idea.

On the right of your screen there is a chart button - click it
Charts and stuff appear at the screenn edges and can be dragged into view.
one of these is your SOAN (reg manual):up:

I've tried both of those but thanks for the suggestions. I'm completely stumped. I rarely use it, thats what weapons officers are for :D, but its going to bug me anyway.

You must have changed screen resolution at one time then. Delete the Pagelayout_Draggables.TDW file in your \Silent Hunter 5 folder to reset that page's draggable positions.
You still have to click the charts icon to get SOAN's 'tab' to show on the upper left side of the screen

I have been messing about with the graphics settings. I'll bet thats what it is, thanks.

Oh and thank you for all your Mods as well, Ubisoft should be paying you a commision :salute:

Delete the Pagelayout_Draggables.TDW

That fixed it. I'd changed from windowed to fullscreen mode and that must have been the problem.

Okay another weird thing has happened whilst I've been playing. Every now and then I lose the ability to edit map marks, for instance I'll draw a line and then when I go to reposition it I can't select it again, this happens with all the tools and the only thing I can do is use the rubber to get rid of the mark and draw a new one. I managed to get it back somehow and then it went again.

Anyone else had this?

Edit: Never mind, I'm an idiot. You can't edit the marks when the game is paused :oops:
