Why I love America...

I will be the first to admit that there are things wrong with America. We are an imperfect nation run by imperfect people elected by imperfect citizens. There is a lot we get wrong and a lot we get right.

So it is only fair that we take some time to acknowledge what America does well. We are an innovative culture and we approach problems with creative solutions.

Case in point, submitted for your approval.

The BeerBelly :yeah:

http://www.kotulas.com/deals/beerbelly-you-can-take-it-with-you

Why pay ballpark prices for your favorite beverage when you can bring your own anywhere? The BeerBelly makes it possible. It consists of a neoprene sling and a bladder that holds 80 oz., more than a six-pack of your favorite cold one. When worn under your clothes, it looks like you've put on a few pounds, effectively disguising your intentions. The BeerBelly works with either hot or cold beverages and includes a wide mouth for easy cleaning. http://www.kotulas.com/wcsstore/KotulaCatalogAssetStore/images/product/210120_lg.jpg

And the WineRack
http://www.kotulas.com/deals/medium-winerack-the-advantages-are-obvious

Includes a polyurethane bladder and a drinking tube long enough to route as you wish, along with an easy-to-use on/off valve to control the flow. Fits sizes 34C-D, 36A-D and 38A-C; In
black.

Well let me put it this way,
Im (still) writing in English, on an American Internet Forum, In an American Web browser, running on an American Operating system, while listening to American music and drinking an American beverage....
Now if I still didn't love the United States after all that, I guess that would just be rather ungrateful not to mention hypocritical. :woot:

Most Americans now are no longer passionate about freedom. Many of them I would consider a typical cowed people. Large proportion of the society are lacking simple common sense. Fundamentalism is rampant, some of which are religious, others are not. This shows in the lack of tolerance between beliefs. Wisdom you hate, foolish words you love to death. Large portion of the society want the US to go back to isolationism never realizing the place that the superpower state has in the global community.

If you guys are going downhill certainly you guys deserve it imo. It would just make perfect sense. No offense, this is my own personal observation.

As for China being a superpower I wouldn't count on it being a greater superpower than US even down 15-20 years from now. At most it will be a major regional power in terms of military. But politically speaking it will never command as much political and social influence as United States has in the past 50 years. Chinese movies anyone? Chinese law study anyone? China just doesn't have the social infrastructure and freedom its society needs to grow and develop as an advance society. A superpower needs a super society. China will need to reinvent its society and that will be impossible without reinventing and reforming its politics. China will never be willing to reform its politics. Thus China impediment to become a great nation will come from its politics. China will always have one of its foot in the bucket. It will be an awkward major power.

With global economic crisis China will be hit hard too. It still doesn't have a domestic market big and strong enough to dampen a slowing economic growth. This is simply due to the fact that the middle classes are still not the majority and those middle class households too depend on strong global economic growth. So China's long term fate is inevitably intertwined with the global economy outlook. One cannot become one of world's largest economy by solely depending on domestic market. You simply can't defeat global demand of manufactured goods. But still China huge population may help a lot but only if the majority of the population are middle income households. In other words how do you grow prosperity of the population without strong global demands? You need to grow local entrepreneurs and local businesses of medium to large size companies which rely heavily on domestic market. Tough job without strong global export demands to grow the middle classes. It's more like a long term goal than anything achievable in a short time. Having superior education too is a prerequisite. In short words, China needs to reinvent its people and their mindset.

...really?

Seriously Castout, what are you going on about? I appreciate the passion about freedom, but this has nothing to do with this thread and honestly rants like this really diminish your cause rather than help it - this isn't the place for it, and given what the discussion is about here, it makes what you say look silly and out of place. It's a thread about drinking beer from hooters. That's as deep as it's gonna get here, and I'd rather it stay that way. We need a bit of that in GT.

Sometimes you just need to relax and let people gloat in the joy of living in a country where people can still laugh at drinking booze from boobs, you know? It ain't a big political issue, just something to sit down to after a long day and have a good chuckle + a cold one. You should try it sometime.

Thank you. Coasting is fun.

Seriously, this was a light-hearted tongue in cheek thread about questionable inventions that I think you read waaaayyy too much into. Save the "you're all doomed" dirges for the heavy threads.

Ah this thread is a jest huh. :DL

Sometimes it doesn't translate well. I have had a few Ukrainian immigrant co-workers in the past. Often I had to explain to them what on the office talk radio was sarcasm, a bluff or somebody actually being serious for once. :D Eventually they started to figure it out by the context.

Yeah, no worries, I just thought it'd be obvious! I've made that mistake before :O:

Save good points for somewhere that they'll be taken seriously though. Shame wasting a good argument on a silly thread

Now back to our regularly scheduled beer boinkers!

Questionable?
Nothing questionable there, apart from quality of taste from plastic containers.

Why I hate America:

I admit there are things that are great in America. They have a great constitution, beautiful landscapes and brought us multitools, Ben & Jerry's and Chuck Berry.

However the rampant suppression of minorities and hate against people who are different is something I can not bear.

Who thinks of belly-ish challenged people like me? :shifty:
What am I supposed to do? Put one onto my back? Get the female model, which makes me look like a transvestite or even worse: like a wine-drinker? :nope:

No, no, no: I demand that they make a buttcheeck model for people like me! We also want to smuggle our drinks into stadiums and festivals.
No justice, no peace!
People with beer bellies are humans, too!
