Hello,

I really do enjoy this community as I can ask any kind of question I need to and normally get a good response . But, I was curious as to how often depth charges are deployed from warships when they find you do they normally deploy depth charges to try and attack you? I know that I have just randomly died in the water when running from them but to my knowledge, and my ear no depth charges were used. I'm going to be installing the popular mod, 'IRAI' here soon as well and I'm sure that, that will do just what I want and hopefully even make everyone more aggressive thus, making the game more fun :D. But if you guys could enlighten me on the conditions that must be held for the depth charge to be deployed that'd be wonderful.

In the real world i think destroyers used to use charges whenever they got positive/suspected id on a boat, for example they see a u-boat stalking the convoy force it to dive then work the area over with charges to try and score a direct hit( rare i think) or cause so much damage that the boat is forced to surface.

Ingame id expect splashes whenever a enemy is pinging away with asdic, if they suspect youre there i think they will use charges, but i am not 100% sure since i only play sh5 a short time.

Either way thanks for the response man, I appreciate that, I'm sure that IRAI will make them even more aggressive than before. I played a little more of SH5 with that mod installed and the planes are extremely aggressive but I didn't play long enough to ever get to see how the destroyers reacted. But either way, the planes were so much fun that I would honestly be ok if they were the only good part of the game xD. Again, thanks for the response man.

Good Hunting,

Logan.

Using the stock (as designed) difficulty settings for IRAI is mere suicide unless you are an extremely good captain and you are excellent with your evasive maneuvers.
