American's policy states that it can refuse to transport you, or may remove you from your flight for reasons including "being clothed in a manner that would cause discomfort or offense to other passengers."

Hmm... I fnd religiously restrictive headwear offensive, so that woman in the burqa and that gentlemen with the yarmulke must leave this flight.

OK, obviously that's an extreme - but given the overly litigious nature of people looking to score a quick profit from a lawsuit... [/shrug]

I dunno... haven't decided which side of this one I'm coming down on yet.

Yes, and so has the TSA! :haha:

I think that, if we're subject to patdowns, we should be patted down by members of the TSA whom we find attractive at some level, and should be allowed to pat back.

I have a feeling I will be standing around a long time waiting for one! :haha:

We're the taxpayers. We should mandate the hiring of attractive gropers... er, "agents."

Muslim Woman Removed From Plane Wants Crew Disciplined

Southwest is the airline that kicked a woman off a flight last August, if memory serves, for a skimpy skirt.

Sheesh... OK, I thought it was an extreme example - clearly, I was mistaken.

As to the Southwest Skimpy Skirt Scandal, I think they just asked her to cover up, gave her a blanket, and then the flight proceeded, but I may be mixing up a couple of different articles, too.

In the old days, people dressed up for airline flights. The food was high quality. It was a luxurious experience.

Today, I'd call the experience anything but luxurious.

I think the standard is still good.

Like almost everything else, the Customer Experience is second to the Shareholder Dividends.

Okay, here are a few things that I think we should be fine with being "imposed".

1. No religious headgear/saris/head wraps or anything that obscures the face.

2. Nothing ridiculously large or obnoxious (like a Halloween costume)

3. Nothing ridiculously revealing.

Personally, I always wear jeans and a button up/sweatshirt just because it can get pretty hot or cold on a given flight.

Oh, one more...

4. No smelling bad. Good God, I mean, deodorant isn't expensive. I've flown next to people so bad that I volunteered for the exit row just to get away from.

Do you know what a sari is?

It is a blanket wrapped around a woman's whole body. :O:
