New Issue with Adobe Reader

I am on my 4th career and all was going well untill this morning.

My game saves would not load ( including those in mid-ocean with no contacts). A small window pop's up and states that a soultion will be forth coming by windows soon. Has not happen so far.

I am really wondering why this just became an issue!

The crux of the problem seems to be arround not having Adobe Reader.
Off course there is a well knowen problem with it and Win 7 ( which I am running ) and that has kept me from using it.

Question--- Is there an Adobe Reader ( or a part of it ) that can be used
with Win 7 while playing SH4 ( stock ) ??

Adobe Reader: Have a small app.(take care of updates), it is not impossible that it may have been active, when this was happening, a guess from my side, :yep:

SH4 has no use for Adobe Reader. Atleast, it doesn't force you to read the manual while playing the game. (sarcasm: a fat lot of good that thing will do to you anyway) So this can't be the reason for the malfunction. Please state where you got this information from.

A crash during loading the game probably has more to do with mod incompatibility or saving the game (at an earlier time) while in a risky game state known to cause bugs. (which I cannot suggest at the moment)

Yeah, I would say that the pdf reader has nothing to do with your issues.

After the Save does not load within the "small window" is the following.

Silent Hunter IV has stopped working
Windows will close the program and notify you if a
solution is available.

They never do!

This is wierd-- for the last several weeks I have been playing this game for a few hours a day with out any issues.

A little help out there please.

A little help out there please.Sometimes Microsoft does come up with a solution, or workaround. Atleast, I remember getting something about a year or so for an application that I cannot remember. But you have to consider what application or game you are having problems with. What is the priority of getting it fixed? Fixing a bug in Office 2010, or fixing a bug in a old game like SH4. Assuming it even is a bug. And then consider the extent of what Microsoft can do about it. Microsoft doesn't have the code. It seems Ubisoft has absolutely no intent on spending time on older products like SH4. Even SH5 for that matter. So don't count on anything with this game.

But like I said, it's probably another reason that caused the malfunction. Try to load older savegames.

I will erase all of the saves from my last few patrols ( several of those have been over written many times ) and erase all saves after each patrol.

I agree Ubsoft does not give a flip about any of there games after they are sold.
