Well, I was looking around on the internet and I came across this.

http://jesustoasters.com/

The Jesus Toaster!

It burns the image of Jesus or Mary into your toast!

Now - this leads me to wonder - is this a new form of blasphemy, just a piece of curious looking bread, or a new form of worship?

What say you?

Speechless. :har:

I'd say its bread.

Personally, I like my toast evenly... well... toasted. Its humorous for its conversational value, but to make edible toast I'd have to say its probably not "glorious".

Bread! Definately bread! :yep:

Might be a bit of satire poking fun at people who are always claiming to see images of the Virgin Mary or other religious figures in their food.

Cheezus of Nazareth?

I seem to recall according to The Simpson's he had to appear in a taco in Tijuana.

It's only blasphemy if you believe; otherwise it's heresy or apostasy.

First off it would be sacrilege, not blasphemy.

Second, technically speaking it can't be sacrilege, because images were forbidden by Judaic law at that time, so it can't be a picture of Jesus, only of what someone today thinks he looked like.

Stupid? Yes. Sacrilege? Not hardly.

[Frown] No Chavez. With Chavez on it this thing would remind every Venezuelan every morning who puts the bread on their table (Not Chavez obviously but most people are not that smart anyway).

if Gaddafi had them there would be no revolution. :O:

so it can't be a picture of Jesus, only of what someone today thinks he looked like.

Stupid? Yes. Sacrilege? Not hardly.

Yeah the man- Jesus according to the scriptures was supposed to be a rather ugly person.

All these images are all made up by people's imagination.

The current Jesus looks like this,

http://www.cardinalrentals.ca/ESW/Images/white.jpg
Can't see a damn thing because His face shines the most outrageous white light that enveloped His whole figure which the already overwhelming light even grew in intensity towards the direction of His face . Couldn't even see the figure or even His toe. Damn much brighter than a hundred of our sun put together.

We know - according to the Shroud of Turin - that he had long hair and a long beard.

We also know he was Jewish - so - pretty tan and probably with a large nose.

Now - I know this wouldn't be classified as blasphemy - I just needed to make a convincing title.

This thread is making me hungry for a Jesus toasted Cheesus sandwich.

The Shroud of Turin dates from the middle ages, sooo can'e be Jesus.

Blasphemy or a real dilemma? :D

Pastor Schober wasn't sure whether he really should
have bought the new crucifix at Ikea.

Exactly which scriptures would those be?

The current Jesus looks like this.
And you know this how? Once again you put forth your belief as if it were accepted fact.

Can't see a damn thing because His face shines the most outrageous white light that enveloped His whole figure which the already overwhelming light even grew in intensity towards the direction of His face . Couldn't even see the figure or even His toe. Damn much brighter than a hundred of our sun put together.
Now, like it or not, you are promoting your beliefs and pushing them on others.

Also, The Gospel According To John describes a separate headpiece.

6 Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,
7 And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.
So the only possibly acceptable account of the scene disgrees with the image on the shroud.

I'd rather have the ability to have a thread that mentions Jesus without the atheists getting involved, because, as far as I'm concerned, when it comes to religion, their opinion has no value.

So you carefully avoid the fact that your Shroud of Turin point is disproved. And what atheist has "gotten involved" in this thread?

Then I'm assuming that you will have no problem if atheists oppose religious people discussing science?

I could say the same thing about religion getting involved in anything else. I.e The retards who think religion deserves a much bigger roll in politics, or creationism in school.

Frankly, if you guys want to have another way to discriminate against each other, and believe in something like that, go ahead. I dont care what ytou do. Just dont try to expand your influence. Theres a reason the seperation of church and state was a highlight that our founding fathers instituted into law.
religion has no place anywhere else than church and home.

But, if i may quote voltaire, "I disapprove of what you say,but i will defend to the death your right to say it"

very well. what would you like to talk about involving the silly toaster?

i think that all things that could be said about the toaster would be summed up in a page and a half. Everything else, had you had the foresight, would obviously be about the question of why would people want to have jesus on toast, which would obviously end up being a religous debate.

Frankly, the debate will always turn to such things, like religion, or gay marriage or whatever. Anything that hints religion or anything that is a never ending debate will ultimately end up at such debate. youd think people wouldve figured that out by now....

I'm just following from your comment. If atheists have no valid opinion on religion, then the religious have no valid opinion on science.

Perhaps phrased a different way, you'll see the insult you offered:
"Religious people can't understand science."

You can be atheist - and still have no clue of science. So your example does not match.

Whereas you can understand some scientific basics or mechanics - and corrupt them due to your religious dogmatism.

Would you like your blasphemies on whole wheat, white or rye? With a side of sacrilege and a thumping big slice of irreverence.

Now a toaster that created an image of Bugs Bunny might be cause for amazement.

:hmmm:
by putting the word "blasphemy" into the title, you imply a religious connotation. I do not see what else you would like to discuss, as a toaster which burns pics into a toast are not really something brand new.

However I think your "honest to God"-swearing could count as blasphemy ;)

btw: many atheists did occupy themselves a lot with religion before they decided to show it the could shoulder
