I don't know if i am in the right forum to talk about this, but an 86 year old ww2 veteran is stuck in a prison in Leeds abusively in my opinion.

He served in her majesty's convoys. :arrgh!:

Wow; that is a very sad story. There are also some fascinating posts over there about the battle with the "Scharnhorst".

To think he survived all that, only to have to put up with this nonsense from the nation he defended.

Former service provides no get out of jail free card. Mr. Scarth has massive support from the Tinfoil Hat mob, 911 Truthers, and assorted civil-libertarian fanatics.

Contempt of court is one of those crimes that are generally committed willingly and with forethought; those who have contempt of the justice system, however flawed it might be, are hypocrites for demanding that that very same justice system ignore repeated and systemic disrespect of the process. As imperfect as the system is it requires respect as the alternative leads down the road to anarchy. Probably why assorted anarchists web sites have taken up Mr. Scarth's bogus cause.

Generally those using contempt as a vehicle for social protest wear their penalties as a badge of honour. It is also said that a man who defends himself has a fool for a lawyer and an idiot for a client. Both seem applicable here.

His wartime service and age are absolutely irrelevant and should have no bearing on the case.

And yes I went chasing this down and following the links and others not listed. My opinion, throw away they key.
