Silversides 7000 yards outside Guam it's 0300 Pearl time. Happily plinking freighters with radar and the TDC spread adjustment on the attack chart. I use updates ON (giving me the feeling that I actually have a plotting party), but, that's another thread.
"Submarine sighted brg 349 long range"...oh really?...Lining him up I'm thinking, "This is what good dreams are made of, or somthing like that".
"Open tube 7". "Gyro laid in, skipper, depth set 8 feet." "FIRE." "Torpedo in the water"...
I just had to see this so I put the external alee of the torpedo approach. After awhile here comes the white trail of this little sub's (it's a mini, with two fish looking out the bow) destiny. WHANG!...right in the breadbasket.
The damn thing bounced right to the harbour mud, cartwheeled and rolled around in the rocks...and...bobbed right back to the surface like a cork...not a scratch!..."WHAT?"
"Open tube 8, Skipper?"..."Nah"..."Ahead full, second star on the left." "Did you ever, Fred?" "No, Skipper, never. Prolly will again, though." "Yup, prolly will...whatever."...SK

These weird target behaviour - such as ships jumping into the air when they are hit, or turning vertically and staying that way, poked into the mud of the harbor - is something that happens sometimes to everybody. Is is a programming defect, i guess. Happens often when you hit targets docked in port.

Still, it's weird, eh?

Sick treatment for a fine lady.
Correct me if I'm wrong. When I was aboard they were using banks of smaller batteries to operate limited systems. Are the design batteries still servicable?
