One mistake, missing a quotation mark:

The earliest date was 18 April 1945, the day after the war ended.
But VE day was May 8th, error or is it referring to something else?
Exciting story so far!

New insallment up
Don,t be shy to comment, if you don't like it :DL
Do not ever .... read something that is not good from you, :DL
...i like it. i think it snaps along nicely from what i have read so far.
my only thing is this:His gaze rested on the laptop sitting on a 1930s style chest of drawers matching an armoire of the same period.'
i think this sentence is a bit clunky and a a bit long winded. i think you should name the 1930's style chest of drawers - the design/period, the maker. i think it would tighten this sentence and lend it more brevity and polish, because the rest of the writing clicks along smoothly in terse dialogue and narrative. name things when they can be named, Art Deco, perhaps?
have i gone too far? no offence intended:salute:
Flag, great suggestion! it is clunky a clunky sentence. Many thanks! :salute:
hi Brag
if you have not already read this book then give it a try. the writing is tight and compressed, a classic war time adventure story.
along the thoughts i have spoken (...but who am i to speek? - you have been published!!)

i hope this link works, if not, the writers name and novel are Geoffrey Household - Rogue Male.
:salute:
Iīve peeked inside the book, very impressed by the writing. Again thanks :DL
Hi Flag
I peeked into the book, fabulous writing.
The link took me to Amazon UK, where I discovered there was a review for Kingmaker and they also have an authors' page where I plunked a mug shot. Will add bio tomorrow. Super thanks :D

Yikes, Im hooked.
I think Claudia is a very interesting character. I am not sure if i trust her. Is she a good or bad? On the one hand she seems almost too good to be true, as if she could be manipulating Val, and her radical mood shifts always seem to keep him off his feet, are they planned? Or is she really just an innocent with a couple of issues? As for Leonore ...
Hopefully Val discovers which way is up before its too late.
Wednesday instalment is up. :DL
