View Full Version : I keep inadvertently firing torpedos...

I'm suffering from a well-known issue that comes with using the 1.4b Resolution Fix.

Basically when playing at 1920x1080, whenever you're in Periscope View, and you left-click to rotate the scope, the moment you left-click again to stop rotating the mouse cursor immediately reappears over the "Fire" button and launches a torpedo.
Normally at the game's default resolutions it should reappear over your cross-hairs but due to the slight aspect stretching inherent in the Resolution Fix, the cursor now reappears in about the most inconvenient spot imaginable.

A lot of people seemed to have suffered from this:

But as yet... there doesn't seem to be a concrete solution, aside from simply playing at a lower resolution like 1680x1050, which I will do if it comes to it, but aren't there any TDC/GUI mods that simply move the fire button around so it's not in it's default location and somewhere less likely to be pressed by accident?

Once again, thank you in advance kind souls of Subsim.

It's more of a workaround rather than a solution, but you can always try the following:

Fix for Auto Firing Torpedoes when running at 1920 x 1080 resolution:

See this post : http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...82&postcount=6 (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=1517282&postcount=6)

It disables the Clickable nature of the fire torpedo button on all screens, leaving Ctrl+Enter (in GWX) or Enter in Stock SH3 the only way to LOS!Beyond this there are GUI mods that move the fire button so as to avoid the issue. IIRC one such example is the MaGui mod:

Hope it helps! :sunny:
