The National Rifle Association has filed a law suit against Washington's plans (http://www.nraila.org/Legislation/Read.aspx?ID=7015)
for additional paperwork requirements for gun dealers in four southwestern states, claiming that the Obama administration is trying to "distract" the public from its own mistakes in "Operation Fast and Furious."But what if, asks a spokesman with the Second Amendment Foundation, (http://www.saf.org/) the paperwork was the goal of the "Operation Fast and Furious" debacle by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives?
The ATF sting operation, in an attempt to build a case against Mexican criminal organizations, allowed at least 2,000 illegal weapons to be purchased in the United States and taken across the southern border so they could be traced.
The program disintegrated last year after it was revealed that two of the weapons were found at the scene of a murdered U.S. Border Patrol agent. At least 150 shootings have been linked to the weapons.

Wait... the government provided guns in a manner that they could fall into the hands of unsavory characters, then are surprised when those guns are turned on us?

Have these people even heard of Afghanistan? Iran? Ollie North could have told them this was a bad idea.

Unfortunately indictments won't be handed down at least until the current crop of criminals is out of power. Then i'll bet that the Repubs who replace them will pull a Jerry Ford.
