Funny!
I wonder who is who though.
The blind leading the blind? Or is it a case of Monkey see, Monkey do?
Or maybe it's a case of The Pied Piper. Wonder who is the rat.
Either way, I would have loved to be a fly on the wall at their so-called "magic save all" meeting.
I bet they talked more about the voter backlash possibilities and how we can retain power in this time of trouble for not just both nations but for the zone.
It is already widely known that the German machine has ground down to a lethargic lumber.
Merkel is a blundering Fool.
The German pride and all that goes with it, reputation, hard work, ethics, a sense of achivement, will go out the window soon enough.
The rot has started. It started a long time ago.

In their infinite wisdom they know what is good for us peasants!
Not so funny, we've got this inept at the head of the country after all.
Poor France, where the hell has your might gone.
Lack of leadership in a major crisis ...
Bankers and the boys in Wall street running the show ...
Should've thought twice before having the kids :hmmm:...

Poor France, where the hell has your might gone.
Like Germany, it's not the might, I think it's more: "where has your brains gone"?

Sarkozy has seen classic French demands of what France wants the EU and ECB to be like, getting more acceptance and support. More centralism, less independence of the ECB, politics ordering economics Paris style, getting closer to a federal state of Europe (that Fraqnce plans to dominate due to own power and centralist design), and Germany's finances being taken hostage for the sake of French interest, and French designed EU. All this are classical drives and goals of French Euro-policy, since a very long time. And Merkel time and again has given in to such demands, falling for their deceptive cloathes in which the French have dressed them to make the Germans swallow them. What France has given for that? Confessions over intentions that indicate future plans that possibly would turn into to-be-detailed processes in a future, maybe, with huge French intention to express its sympathy and it's agreement with these intended, projected, possibly happening projects that probably could take place in a not specified near or far away future.
Sarkozy has outmanouvered Merkel so often now, that this really reveals how impotent and stupid this woman really is. The running joke in Berlin is that under Merkel the German political class has learned how to get pulled over the table by the French without the Germans even realising it anymore - to avoid the pain of burning wounds from friction.

As this comes from the Daily Mail I rather hear from your side of the fence Skybird in throwing light on this story.

First, I don't give much for the Daily Mail, nor do I read it. That is the hate paper that just days ago once again compared contemporary Germany to the Nazis and warned of Germany forming a Fourth Reich and conquering and supressing Europe, succeeding where Hitler failed - this time by financial means.
Second, I have not even heared a clue or hint about the story you quote there, not in Germans, jnot in Swiss, not in Austrian and not in French international papers.
But the Brit rabate however that Thatcher got by taking all Europe hostage back then, certainly is a thing that can be examined these days. If Germany would cut its spendings on the EU to comparable ammount, in % of totals, the EU would collapse immediately. - This the Mail seems not to print.
I agree the Mail is hyped up tripe, and found it odd I could only find this story in there newspaper and no where else. The Mail has a nasty habit of twisting facts and spinning half baked truths with a good dollop of codswallops.
As I suspected...

I will never understand how someone can read:
- The Sun
- The Daily Mail
- Fox News
- Bildzeitung
The list is anything but complete i know, but they are so obvious !
From lies to propaganda and insults, those "news" papers are one biased right-wing lowlife bullsh!t for the dumb. You would not wrap fish'n chips or german sausage in it because they would instantly begin to rot in there. Not that their websites are anyway "better".
I mean how can someone read a paper from Mr. Murdoch and BELIEVE this concentrated hate bull ?! :88):dead:
People need a better education, worldwide.
Like Germany, it's not the might, I think it's more: "where has your brains gone"?
Territory abandoned to the Moors slowly erasing our former population while taking advantage of our administration, we are.
France needs a war, and not one through which we'd have to stick up for the rights of another people in another country and continent.
I'm eagerly awaiting it.
