View Full Version : Mouse grounds SAS plane in Stockholm
A mouse has grounded a flight from Stockholm to Chicago.
The mouse was seen scurrying across the floor of the SAS Airbus 330 before passengers began to board on Tuesday.
The creature had evaded capture despite "an extensive search onboard and numerous mouse traps placed inside the aircraft", SAS was quoted as saying.
The airline said that as well as unsettling passengers, the mouse posed a potential safety risk as it could chew the aircraft's cables.
It added that the 250 passengers left stranded in the Swedish capital had been understanding, and it was doing its best to rebook them on new flights.
But the aircraft is among the airline's largest, so finding a replacement has been difficult, reported Swedish English-language news website The Local.
American travellers James Roach and Marie Alswager told the website they had been waiting more than five hours in a line that is moving "six feet an hour".
"This is the most expensive mouse in the history of humankind," joked Mr Roach.
In fact, this is not the first time a rodent has grounded flights.
Two Delta Airlines flights from New York to London were cancelled in November 2009 after mouse sightings.

Somebody has not set out some cheese traps, :arrgh!:
In other news, the cuts to the British Armed Forces have reached such critical levels that the Special Air Service has been forced to branch out into the airline industry, the aircraft interior is rugged and amenities are rare, however the fare is low and the likelihood of a terrorist attack nil.

If the aircraft is air tight it is time to fill it up with some lethal mustard gas or something. That will show that rodent! :DL

At least its mouse this time. Few years ago there was case where several snakes had managed to escape from their transport bag in cargo hold.
I don't remember anymore where that happened.

Aye and a few passengers as well....wouldn't want to open the exit doors to let them out before fumigation began, the little blighter might escape :DL

His use of SOF kinda ebbs and flows. In Debit of Honor and Executive Orders (chronologically later in the series) conventional forces weigh in heavily. Although Rainbow Six is exclusively CT operations.
I was once critical of his later books which I thought were dry until recently when I'm listening to (almost) his whole collected works on audio book and find that he can really craft a story well (except for the Mountain Men in Executive Orders, I still can't figure out what their exact plan was).
Could, perhaps due to his earlier depictions of this "type of field operations" are very close to the truth, and that it may be caused a controversial situation that he writes about the pure facts of the principle ....:hmmm:

I didn't read any of them yet, but I always thought the premise of some of Clancy's post-Cold War books seemed quite ridiculous. I read a few of his earlier books and they were all quite good, though.
Yes the books are good, and a consistently good story, :yep:
HFRO and RSR were his best, Cardinal was good too...I haven't read Debt of Honour or Executive Decisions though, those are on my 'To do' list. :yep:

Debt of Honor, Executive orders and The Bear and the Dragon make a nice Trilogy.

That's pretty much what I thought. Red Storm Rising is my favourite, of course, followed by The Cardinal of the Kremlin and Red October.
