Windows 7 & steam

Hi.i´m total newbie.. so is my question(before i install sh4).
My system specs first:
windows 7 64 bit home premium
RAM 8gb 800mhz ddr2
Gigabyte GTX470 1280mb SOC
2x1tb samsung spinpoint hdd
700w PSU-maximum output 900w
Latest nvidia driver.

So i have all ready installed STEAM and some games.is it there any
problems with steam?should i install my game outside program files,like C:\Game2 ???
Should i make my first patrol without any mod installations?
My realism level 50% in game.any good mods??? :ping:

I've found that installing Steam outside of Program Files preemptively solves many Vista or Windows 7 issues. Install it in C:\Steam and leave it there.

I must say, I used to hate steam, but after some rebooting and formating, I had to reinstall everything all over again, including Steam, and all the sudden I have no problems with it anymore. We must remember they are constantly updating and improving that downloader of theirs, so maybe it pays off to uninstall and reinstall it to see if problems stop.
