Who can guess what series this was taken?
I used to watch it when I was a boy, so it's old:

Lol, F-Troop was my first impression as well, but the insignia is all wrong.

Looks like a "futuristic" space show. Not sure I've ever watched it. Don't think it is american.

Come to think of it, the lightning bolt could make it a later Space Patrol episode?

Edit: NVM, it is Rocky Jones, Space Ranger. Before even my time. http://psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/weapons/86.gif

I don't know. I just wrote a couple of glowing reviews at Amazon for the 1943 Batman and 1948 Superman serials. Tacky? Yes. Cheesy? Without a doubt. That said, there was a simple earnestness about them that just tickles me. So innocent, yet so willing to try to be serious with what little they had to work with. I love 'em. :sunny:

My, my...

By the above criteria of age, I must be fully ancient...

I remember watching television in my Irish grandparent's home in San Francisco. My family didn't yet have a set so l would watch my grandparent's set which had a black and white picture. The set was in a cabinet that stood about waist high and the screen was flat on the top and bottom and rounded on the left and right edge. I remember watching the "Mickey Mouse Club", "Crusader Rabbit", the original Jack LaLanne exercise shows, short 15 minute programs with performers like gospel singer Mahailia Jackson, and, on Friday nights, the Gillete boxing matches ("Look Sharp!, Feel Sharp!, Be Sharp!"). The above picture reminds me of a serial that ran on TV in the 1950's titled "Captain Midnight". Does aayone remember that show. Jet Jackson had a sidekick who would always say "The name's Mudd, Ichabod Mudd, two 'D's'"...

EDIT:

"Captain Midnight" also went by the title "Jet Jackson"...

Correct

The first interracial kiss on US television took place when Sammy Davis Jr and Nancy Sinatra kissed briefly on the variety program"Movin with Nancy"in December 1967.

The Shatner/Nichols kiss happened 22 Nov 68 almost a year after the Davis/Sinatra kiss.

Very good answer but not correct. The 1954 broadcast you posted was the first Coast to Coast color broadcast. But not the first broadcast. However, I think I will steal your answer for another trivia question at work. :salute:

10 Oct 1949 the Kukla, Fran, and Ollie show was broadcast using the RCA Dot-Sequential Color System Camera

22 November 1953 The Colgate Comedy Hour with Donald O'Conner is the first commercial NTSC color program.

23 December 1953 NBC transmitted the first commercial TV program on color film, on "Dragnet". The episode was "the Big Little Jesus".

8 July 1954 First TV network color series -- "The Marriage," a situation comedy with Jessica Tandy and Hume Cronyn

What lead actor on a TV show was a major league baseball player for the championship 1949 Dodgers whose roster included Jackie Robinson, Gil Hodges, Pee Wee Reese, Duke Snyder and Roy Campanella. They lost the world series to the Yankees in 5 games. He also played for the Cubs.

He played basketball for the Boston Celtics. He was the first NBA player to ever shatter a backboard. (The glass had not been installed correctly) He was drafted by the Chicago Bears but never suited up for them.
During WWII he enlisted in the army spent most of the war as a tank-warfare instructor, stationed at Camp Campbell, Kentucky.

All in the Family was a popular TV series in the 1970's

It also holds the record for the number of spin off TV series.

Can you name them?

Hint

There were seven spin offs not including spin offs from the spin offs

How many spin off tv shows came from All in the Family?

Yes, indeed, one of her names started with a Z; besides her sad eyes, she was also reknowned for her ability to play up flustered and/or confused characters and for her trademark utterance "Oh, my, Oh dear..."
