Silent hunter 5 Expansion?

Hey im new to subsim, even though i have been playing silent hunter since silent hunter 1. I have played every various silent hunter game from 1-5 and i just finished the sh5 campaign. I was sad that the sh series has ended up like this after the amazing success of sh3. I know the whole purpose that sh5 ended up the way it did was because that wanted to make a, pardon the pun, subsim more accessible to casual gamers. But they should have included more expert features for "us" experienced sub sim guys. But i digress, now we have sh5 which ends in '43 and with the most advanced sub being the VIIC/41. I truly hope, even though i checked everywhere, that they come out with an expansion for this game. But i have a feeling that the silent hunter series make be in for a long hiatus, which i hope isnt for too long. I mean there has to be some of the devs from the old Strategic sims still working at ubiRomania that want to get back to the good old days. That much i hope. I just wanted to know what the other gamers at subsim think.....

The closest thing to an expansion you'll find right now is the Open Horizons campaign by Zedi, which carries through to the end of the war.

Other subs would require the creation of complete exteriors, interiors and crew animations, all of which may be possible, but the best modders are pretty busy trying to make what's already there work properly.

As for developers, the do what they get paid to do, not what they dream about doing. If someone should come up with several million dollars to throw around, I'm sure some good game developers could be found. Barring that, I don't see anything like that happening anytime soon.

thanks for the salutation, yea ive been banging around silent 3 for a week now, re installed GWXgold but the visuals are killing me lol ive been spoiled by sh5 enviroment. But the sound from GWX torpedo firing is seriously one of the best ".wav file" ever. I just started playing SH4 uboat exp, but the campaign flys by. Im on my 5th or 6th patrol its roughly jan '44 already. I dunno i got this crazy uboat hunger, lol i even changed my netflix queue for the director cut,bluray for DAS BOOT.
