Just a quick heads up, NASA are about to launch Juno on a mission to probe Jupiter. The thing that got my attention with this is that they're sending some Lego up there :D

you can watch it here: http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/index.html

At the time of writing the countdown is at: T minus 4 minutes on hold for 10 minutes due to helium flow problems.

Your BBC had it live.
I only realised when this went up that my youngest had never seen a launch before.

Was quite convinced/happy with the original link....should have went to 'old reliable' perhaps.

Watched it from the back yard it was a great shot, if boeing gets it's act together that rocket will get a crew to the space station in no time.

Child's play! LOL

It actually is lol. Jupiter is relatively close. The Atlas V that is taking New Horizons to Pluto was launched at over 36,000 mph. That was in '06 and still stands as the fastest. As of Aug 2, 2011 it was still doing over 34k.
